The best boots in what way? Shape? Vendor? Quality?

I suppose in all cases you should check out JDOS (E-bay him).
They're not cheap, but they'll last a lifetime.

I have Daniel's boots, and they're awesome. Look as good today as when I first got them over 3 years ago!!!

But, if you can't afford custom boots, then you have two other options:

1. Get some basic boots that are over the calf. You should even be able to find real leather ones for $100ish. Remove anything from them that screams "cowboy".

or

2. You can get some cheapo boots (often pleather or some other leather like material) for under $50-$60. These won't last, but....unless you're UBER rough with them, should last a year or two (depending on how often you're in costume). This might give you some time to save up for some custom boots.

In either choice, you can modify them to look more Star Warsy...there's a few tutorials and threads here that will give you some ideas Wink

Hi, good to see another Corellian Jedi. I was also thinking of a blood stripe, how were you planning on making one?

Depending on the size of your foot, another way to get good leather boots is to look at ladies boots. Mine were $150 on sale reduced from $250, and are very neutral boots (could be male of female) without zips, perfect for what I was looking for..

haha....yeah, "ladies" boots.

Just remember, they're sized different. I order some boots once, size 11. I could barely get my foot in them. Forget about walking! Then I realized they were ladies boots...and that I probably should have order a ladies 13-14 in order to fit my male size 10.5-11 foot. The only problem I found was finding women's boots large enough for male feet.

Mihunai,
Sorry, when I posted this I was at the end of a veeeeeeeeeery long graveyard shift. Plus after two cups of coffee, which I rarely drink throughout a shift, I was running on steam at this point. [ON TOPIC]I am looking for a quality shoe that will last me a good few years; at a fair (Sp?) price.

SithariRog,
I think I know of a few venders that I can check. I will consider your council as a plan “B”.

Fyr Mureys,
For the blood stripe I was thinking of here. Scroll toward the bottom of the page and you will see the “stripes”. As for women’s shoes… no offence to any of the ladies, but I think I will keep that as a plan “C”.

Hi all,

I was wondering if this shoe would be a passable shoe? I understand that I may have to cut off the straps.

I'm no costume judge, but I highly doubt it.
Make sure boots go at least mid-calf.
Basically, if it doesn't look like say Obi-Wan's boots as far
as height goes, don't buy them.

There might be a grey area, but it's an expensive part of
the costume, and you probably shouldn't risk it.

To me, they look very "cowboyish". I would recommend removing the straps.

I guess...for me, it's the square toe that I don't much care for. That, and it looks like they may be a bit short.

...my two credits worth

I was going over the requirements, the other day, as I was looking over the section, below, concerning the "three needed items" I went, and found, this (<=Link) food pellets vender. Has any one done business with this vender? What was it like; I want the good, bad, and/ or ugly. Is it worth the money? If not where should I go?

You must have at least three items from the list to be formal.

1. Large Jedi robe or cloak, similar to movie canon robes/cloaks, in allowed color palette, with attached hood.
2. Leather or leather-like belt pouches (at least 2)
3. Full or false inner tunic in similar color scheme as outer tunic (dickie / full & mock turtlenecks, mandarin style collars ok). If optional inner tunic is used and long sleeved, then outer tunic may be sleeveless.
4. Food pellets (at least one set of 4).
5. A-99 Aqua breather.
6. Jedi communicator.
7. Droid caller.

I haven't dealt with that seller before. But there's also these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/JEDI-FOOD-CAPSULES-made-from-Staedtler-Caps-/121065868484?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c30168cc4 I just bought them for my jedi costume, they are more expensive though.

KrisAntilles & SithariRog,

Thank you for the information. Sorry for the lateness of this reply; I have been busy. jeez jeez jeez

Okay a new question I was looking around and I was wondering if a communicator, per requirements section below, could be this toy comm? Or does it have to be this; look about halfway down the page.

The old Jedi "Commlink" for the Commtech action figures is HUGE.

Think "Scientific Calculator" huge.

At least 6"-7" long and an inch thick. Probably not acceptible for the costume.

The other guy has some interesting stuff...anyone ever order from him before?

I bought those from the same seller. Nothing bad to say about them. They work just fine for my needs. They're not perfectly accurate, but I've never had anyone say anything. I have the pens to make my own once I finally use up the pens (just felt like such a waste!).
