So,
Now that we have a Members Only section to our website what do you think about posting troops up in this section?

This way we can post up pertinant information without the possibility of lurkers on the boards crashing any private parties.

For example, the St. Pats Parade & Starfest would be in the open forum since that is not a private affair, but anything that we would want to hold as exclusive such as a private home birthday party would be in the Members Only Section.

Please let us know what you think .... all comments and thoughts are welcome.

I think we ought to take the approach that I took when posting stuff on the calendar on the MG site: If it's a public event, like the parade, it can go in the public section. If it's something more private, like a birthday party, then it ought to go in a private section.

Realistically, most of what we do is public, so very few events would go in the private area.

Just my .02 cents...

Thankyou Tony - that is a good suggestion. I have updated the vote selections.

In general I think that troop info may be best reserved for the member's only section. I say this because I know that some 501st Garrisons in other regions in the past have had problems with having non-members crash events posing as actual members. This includes some high profile events.

I wish that we had a calendar to publicize the events where we would invite the public to visit.

I like this option:

Public troops should go in the General Forum and Private Troops should go in the Private Forum

Some events need to be kept private, but I'm all for public stuff being on the open.

Ok, well, looks like the people have spoken..

SO, if you have a public event that anyone can attend, please post up in the General Base forum and if you have something that is a private event, please post in the Members Only section.
