Make sure you blow dry the hair first. Helps smooth it out. Otherwise looking good.

Yes - blow dry the hair FIRST!!!

Step on one end, pull it tight and run the blow dryer over it (fairly close to the hair, but be careful because it will melt). I was able to run my hair dryer on high, but I used a pretty small dryer.

Do a section at a time and don't forget the ends.

Keep it up!!

It depends on what brand you have, some of them don't need to be straightened, LaTrend being the best example.

Friday I am ordering the stuff to make the cast of the toes so hopefully I can have the toes on. And tomorrow my seamstress might work on my pants. And ya know it is so much better if you blow dry it. Thanks for the tip.

Looking good. Which Wookiee are you making? Is it a custom?

Make sure you are blow drying your hair BEFORE tying it in. From personal experience I can assure you that you will regret it later. My first suit still has areas that are both overly bushy and thin at the same time. Chris Blackstock's tutorial will show you how.

I also recommend mixing two (or more) hair colors together to get a more natural look. Check out Mark's Hackle Making/Usage tutorial along with this excellent Discovery channel video. There is also a pretty good drawing card/hackle tutorial on Ryan's build diary.

Yes sir, I have been blow drying it first as per everyone's advice. I also did build my own hackle.

As for the make and model of the Wookiee I am going with a custome. Main color will be dark brown, number 6, but I will have a few different shads in there as well to keep it interesting.

Been working on this off and on still.

Not a very flattering picture...

Just playing around with the suit before I finished the shirt.

Me and my 5'8" sister

And that puts me at current. I still have some filling to do. Next I need an underskull but my help with that bailed on me.
