Hello!

My name is Carol and I am your Captain of the Guard. As your former CO made it clear that he stepped down from the post in this thread: http://www.rebellegion.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=28569 , the XO grey_starr stepped up to become the new CO. It's been determined that the current CO is unable to serve this detachment due to a period of 30 days of unresponsiveness in office.

Per the Charter:
Quote:
A determination of inability to serve may be deduced from either voluntary self-removal or a period of 30 days of unresponsiveness in office.

Nominations can be made starting 12:01 A.M. EST January 23rd, 2011 through to 11:59 P.M. EST February 3rd, 2011.

All nominations must be seconded. A member may nominate themselves but that will require a second and third nomination. Standing officers must post their desire to seek another term or if they decline to seek another term (no response is considered a decline). A second is not required for standing officers.

Nominated
Nikkos Khann
SoloYT1300

Accepted
Nikkos Khann
SoloYT1300

EDIT 2-4-2011: The nomination period is closed, and the Q & A session will begin for one week starting today February 4th, and closing February 11th, 2011. On February 11th candidates will post final statements.

I'd like to support Bob for CO. I PM'd him and he's willing to accept the nomination.

I guess I'm the third!

Ok, I thinks its completly silly that people interested in running for DCO need 2 nominations.

When you consider that a commanding officer for the legion needs 2... coming from a membership of 2 thousand people. and a detachment DCO needing 2 from 20 people... the numbers are really screwed IMO. So an LMO needs approval of .2% of the people for intention of running for command, yet a DCO needs 10%? Gues what I will be bringing up for charter ammendments next cycle...

With that said I will second the nomination for Conley. It may sound weird coming from me, but I really think this group needs an actual election, not another leader by default.

Agreed Bob.

If it will make things "look better", I'll second Conley's nomination.

I appreciate your votes of confidence. I agree that we need an actual vote. I put my hat in because I really dont want to see out detachment go under. I would be happy to support Bob as DCO as well. I just want this detachment to move forward and not backwards. I would happily serve as DCO or support whomever is chosen.

Way to step up, guys Smile

And Bob have a very valid point on seconds for detachments. It is quite a bit silly.

Definitely something to address in the next round of Charter Amendment proposals.
