I was searching on the internet and apparently you can buy the faux Slave Leia dance costume from "Dancing with the Stars". It was designed by Randall Designs. Here is the description on their site:

Gold Bronze "Star Wars" Smooth Dress. This dress was worn by Kym dancing the Tango in Episode 403. Price: $3800 Size: S

Wesbite: Randall Designs

You can also buy the other costumes designed by Randall for the female dancers on the show.

Mods: I'm not sure if this topic is completely out of place or even allowed, so I'm sorry in advance. Smile

The Deal or No Deal models' Slave Leia costumes were closer to the original than this one. I'd have to be a HUGE Dancing with the stars fan (I'm not) in order to spend that kind of money on it!

Yes, I agree. It's very different from the real thing. The costume designer was probably trying to avoid copyright/intellectual infringement and still be somewhat original.

The bikinis on Deal or No Deal were great. Do we know who made them? Was it a costume dept, outsourced, or were they borrowed?

I was actually thinking of doing the version Kym wore for a dance skit a few friends and I are doing, that way i can work my way up to the "Real Thing", LMAO! I'm still not comfortable with all the skin showing, just yet!!!! Wish I had the money to buy the one on the site! Mara Jade

Steve Sansweet tells me he has one of these costume in his collection (and no we didn't get him to wear it when he was in the Slave Leia group photo at NY Comic Con).

I took ballroom dance lessons, and those dance dresses are extremely expensive because of the fabrics they use and the rhinestoning.
