Flak vest problem...

Today I received my "green one" with the correct pockets on, it should be o.k. according required standards.
The only question I have is about my flak vest. It has the gray front and back piece looking nearly the same (except the white bib, I mean the pattern) and misses the white belt elements on the sides.
When doing my research for the costume I found at least 4 screenshots with the back and sides like mine, and only one screenshot with a back style like the one required in the standards. The only pilot wearing the "required" style also seems to wear another flightcap, more like a russian tank cap ( as I would call it).
Should I/ do I have to change my vest now just to meet the standards?
O.D.

Can you post what screenshots you're using? (and your vest?) Then I'll put up the ones we used to determine the standards. We can discuss from there. If you prefer, we can do it via email as well. I'm at three@hazardsquadron.com. (Oh, and I'll be one of the ones judging you.)

Personally I agree on that the standards are just allowing one vest, when there are at least two versions visible.

Thanks for your offer, Jon!
E-mail is "on the way", including screenshots and explanations...
This weekend I´ll have new pictures of the completed costume and will try to post them asap.
And hey, if you´re one of the judges...I think you are a great looking guy with a good portion of humor and....but I don´t want to be too slimy...
I think I can stand the judgement, but I have NO bad feeling about this!

Got the email Wolfgang, and the pics definitely show that there's a second vest option going on. I'll have to do a bit more research on how to write it up though. In the meantime, I'll take it into consideration when judging and let the other Pilot Judge know as well.

Thanks for starting this discussion, that's how the standards improve!

It´s just that I thought: If there would have been 3 or 4 orange X-Wing pilots in the movie, and only one with a pink flightsuit, would it be o.k. to make the pink one "standard"? For me it´s a question of ratio, but of course the pink one should also be allowed as it can be seen in the movie...
I hope I didn´t mess up everything with my thoughts. But thats the advantage of being a rebel, you can say what you mean, and there´s no censorship like inside the empire...

In that case, probably not as a one-off color change could be excused by faulty lighting. (but ... if you really want a pink flightsuit, you can always make one for INFORMAL status!) Laughing

Lookin' pretty snazzy there. Great job! Smile

One thing, though... Did you use anything to hold your belt flares in place? In the right side picture it looks like one of your flares is falling out, so you might want to be careful of that. It would be a real bummer to be walking around at a troop and lose your flares... Embarassed

IT´S DONE!
Just received my "You´re in" mail, it´s a great feeling to be a part of the Legion now!
@ Hazard three: Of course I´ll give you all informations you need for other A-Wingers. I´ll just have to get some more detailed pictures, so stay on target...
Last weekend I presented my costume to the public for the first time on the Vienna Gaming Fair, together with Austria´s 501st outpost. The A-Wing costume is quite comfortable, I only have to adjust the lenght of my harness belts. I think most people liked my costume, so to be complete I´ll try to make an A-Wing helmet now, pictures will follow.
