I went through some books at B&N and got some pics of things that might come in handy. Sorry about the camera quality, but it'll work until I can get them scanned:

I hope this helps! I'll be doing more reference pics later this week... If you need something, please LMK.

This is a great reference. I may go and see if I can pick up a copy of this book; it's always tricky to get all the fabric texture details from screen shots.

If you can get the book, and scan in images, that would be great. I'm also going to check the library for the books, and scan what I can. The more references we have, the better!

Cool.

Scans could be helpful for both standards requirements and for the RL Costume Binder.

I just got this from the library. I will be doing scans in the next week or so and get them all together for a full RL reference library. I'm also doing this for other costumes. I'm trooping all weekend, so it won't start until next week at the earliest.

And if you need anything sooner, check out your local library or book store. There are a lot of good references there.

And this site is absolutely chock full of screencaps from the TCW movie and all 3 seasons:

Thank you for that link! I've been in need of more screencaps of Senator Chuchi. I did a very rough trial run of her recently, but hope to really step it up now. (Eventual applicant. *hopes*) I definitely want that book, too.

BTW, hi, I'm very new here posting-wise, but have been crawling through to read threads off and on for a while. Embarassed

My husband likes how Padme's Senator Rank Badge looks similar to the RL name badges Wink

I noticed while studying the Maroon Vest/Beige Suit vs the White Battle suit, they are very similar in construction. Probably since it was easier to recycle the same template in the animation. The main difference, besides color, is that the leg 'pads' have more panels than the white suit (14 vs 4). They both have the same stitching/piping detail on the bodice and the pants too.

Question on the standards for the 'Bombad Jedi' costume, it says Off White fabric, but all the stills and the action figure look like a white fabric. I have a white fabric I'm working with now and want to know before I go any farther if that is okay.

I think that I'm as of yet the only person to have done a Bombad Jedi Padme. I did get formally approved and the fabric was not PURE pure snowblindingly white, but not really an "offwhite" so I think you would be fine, but you can always check with the LCJs
I submitted the Costume Standards as a separate outfit because there are a few differences between what is listed for the movie and what there is in the episode. For example there should only be three seams in the pants legs. If you watch the episode you can see the back of her leg and there is no seam

I finished the top last night and was so proud of my work. Beautifully placed neck and bust sections... and then I tried it on. I measured myself a few times, but I guess the way the fabric stretched over my body it changed the placement a bit. The neck piece is fine, but the bust piece sits easily 3" lower than it should. *sigh* it came out so pretty too. I need to recut it when I get home and remake that lower bust piece to sit higher on the, uh, er... girls.

I was going to make the pants tonight, but it looks like I'm fixing the top first lol. I WILL have it done by Sunday for a troop, I swear by it!

Also, has anyone else toyed with the idea of velcro or snaps to hold the shirt to the pants? I have a short torso, so when I tuck in shirts, they always bunch and end up un-tucked after a short time. Also, you can't tuck it in too far or you have lines in the pants that look awful. I figured a thin velcro strip along the waist and back would help keep it still while posing for pictures and what not.

I was also considering making the shirt into a body suit, but again, 'panty lines' - which are a HUGE pet peeve of mine Sad
