I am? Sorry OSmile. I'm also trying to keep myself from losing interest in this project Razz . I have another costume order that I need to finish up, then I think I'll start working on this. So progress photos WILL be coming eventually Smile .

So no progress has been made of late, but we do have some fabric to start working with Smile . I got some leather-like fabric to use for my top, but instead of being blue like I originally planned, it's brown with a purple undertone.

Since the color is so dramatically different from the original idea, I decided to recolor the concept picture to see the changes. I also played with the colors on my sister's twi'lek too.

I like the changes, especially since mine is now flesh toned. That means no paint! Just foundation. Flesh color twi'leks are really hard to make look good, so I won't be rushing that costume. My thought is to get a pinkish cream and put foundation over it. First I'll have to test how the fabric handles foundation, of course Smile .

So, any thoughts?

I think they look good too. Now I have to figure out how to make them Razz . I could get started on the top, but I'm not sure how to make it fasten. I could give it a zipper up the back . . . . but I'm not sure. . .

I like both of the latest sketches and am always interested in more twi'lek. Wink I hope to one day experiment with lekku, but so far it's only on the wishlist.

PROGRESS! Hahaha! Finally I have time (and a deadline) for these Twi'leks, so I have actually started on them. The lekku were what held us up for the longest time, but we have offically decided to go the way of tights, stuffing, and plasti dip. A 501st member shared about how he made his daughter's lekku in this method and it looked really good, so that's our current route.

Right now we just have the tights, as it's been too windy to try and spray them yet. (darn you spring wind!) Hopefully we will get the first coat on them tomorrow.

Several months ago, my sister found this beautiful, gauzy, slinky, gold fabric at a yard sale (LOTS of it too) and decided she wanted her half-sleeves and skirt made out of it. I FINALLY got the sleeves and skirt cut out and the sleeves are almost done!

With flash

I think they look pretty good and she LOVES them (which I always want to hear Smile ). I also love the fabric, and since I'm not sure where to get mesh for my skirts, I think I will be using the same fabric for my skirt and possibly as an overlay for the other sister's tabbard skirt.

Tomorrow I'm going to Joann's to look for fabric for tops, since both my sisters need hand-made tops. And I need to hem the leggings I got at Walmart. I'm so excited with out this is turning out!

Me too! If only the wind would PLEASE die down for one morning! *sigh* Oh well. I got my skirts started today and right now all that is left is to attach them to a waistband of elastic and hem them! They look TOTALLY AWESOME Smile . I'll post pictures a bit later!

Nice first work. The lekku are looking good and these "sleeves" are looking promising. I'm curious to see the rest. ^^

o pictures .

But we are almost done with my sisters twi'lek. The head jewelry she made is GORGOUS! And the soft parts of the costume are done, save for the head wrap. She has leggings from Walmart, shortened to her look, a gold lame leotard (halter style), gauzy gold skirt, and gauzy gold half sleeves.

All that we have left to do on her is get her enough white paint and do the head wrap. Her head wrap is really interesting. We are starting with a vinyl base, kinda like Oola's, and then attaching gathered fabric (same as the skirt and sleeves) to it. It should turn out really, really cool.

Will try to get some pictures tonight.

Oh, and she finished the lekku with a spray of Plasti Dip and they turned out MARVELOUS! She is happy now .
