End Date: January 28, 2011
Start Time: 6:00 pm
End Time: 7:00 pm
Event Website (if any): http://
Approximate number of attendees: 250
Number of non-character volunteers requested: 0
Number of characters requested: 4
Can you provide a secure changing room/staging area to accommodate costumed attendees?: Yes
Characters requested:
- Darth Vader
- Stormtroopers
- Jedi
- Boba Fett
- Rebel Troopers
- Imperial Officers / Crew
- Rebel Officers
- Rebel Pilots
Please briefly describe the event:
This is an Employee of the year event. We have a theme every year & employees dress up in the theme. Our theme this year is Outer Space. I'm looking for some characters that would make a good photo op for our employees. Our organization has a charitable foundation where we give donations out throughout the year that employees have donated. The majority of our donations stay in the Kansas City area. We would be more than happy to give a donation in your name to a cause of your choice. This year we donated to Light the Night, Ronald McDonald House, Negro Baseball Museum, WWI Museum, Hope House, Humane Society, Harvesters, Safe Home, Deanna Rose Children's Museum and many more....

How did you hear about us?:
Saw you at the Light the Night event on Friday, September 24th. Awesome!

EVENT DETAILS:
Two saftey issues:
* No guns/blasters AT ALL for this event. Lightsabers are OK.
* No helmets when entering the building. You can be in costume except for that when coming in. Buckets on only when going from staging area to event area.

Please arrive by 5:30, so we can be ready to troop from 6-7.
We'll be mingling and taking pictures from 6-7, then helping them with an entrance to the banquet.

Enter in the main entrance (not hotel entrance).
Go to Constelation reception room, for storage and changing (it's across the hall from the Wild Olives restaurant).
Once dressed, we're up the escalator there.

After we help with the entrance at 7, we'll try to do pictures with the cool Naboo-esque architecture in the building, then have dinner at one of the restaurants (Wild Olives is about $10-$15 a plate).

I'm gonna go ahead and bump this up to an actual event. I'm pretty sure Sarah and I will be doing it, and that Bill and Karissa will as well. They've offered a quite generous donation of $500 in the name of our groups for helping them out with this.

I forgot to post here, but I'll be going out for this one. Bill talked me into it when I was out there the last time. I have to work a half day, but should be able to make it out there on time. If anyone is interested in going from STL I can take one comfortably.

Oh, so you listen to Bill? I see who pulls the strings around here...

As long as you work the FIRST half of the day I think you should be OK Wink

Well, we thought the donation to Harvesters was going to be $500-$1000, but it turns out their contribution is going to be $5500, to Harvesters on behalf of all the costuming groups and the SureWest employees.
