Im thinking that these boot have shaft. It must be separat?
Allow me to clarify. The boots will be acceptable as an Obi-Wan Ep I boot after completing the following 2 steps:

1. remove the upper strap
2. attach a color-matched spat [fitting underneath the ankle strap] to cover the front of the boot from below the ankle strap all the way to the top

Bryan, am I missing anything??

There wouldn't be a separate AotC saber model because he never lost his saber from TPM (losing his saber ala his padawan *snicker*). That saber was used until his capture on Geonosis...

There is debate about whether or not he went down and retreived his hilt after Darth Maul kicked it down the tube he was hanging from. If he didn't, he rebuilt a very similar saber.
The arguement comes because the hilts are slightly different in the movies, but I think that's the prop makers fault, just like Anakin's Ep. III is suppose to be the same as Luke's Ep IV...Either way though, yes TPM hilt will work for AOTC, unless you're doing Genosis, which I don't think is in the standards anyway because some people said it would be "too easy" to get accepted with that Rolling Eyes

that wasn't quite the prop makers fault Wink the design was changed deliberately,
for the purpose of licensing

the original 1977 saber was made from a vintage Graflex(tm) camera flash;
Lucas does not own the copyright to this design. the judge ruled against him, when he tried to defend it.
(lucas vs. parksabers) Wink

--> the anakin ROTS saber is an all-new design, for which lucas DOES own the copyright.
(chrome instead of aluminum, different dimensions, different detailing, control box points the other way)
no one can sell unlicensed copies of this saber.

its all about the merchandise Wink hehe

-====-

I've assumed that's (also) why obiwan's saber saw design changes from ep1 to ep2 ;
each movie counts as a different 'license' (the two sabers can be licensed individually)

Interesting, because in one of the documentaries it's mentioned that Lucas asked if it was the same, the prop master said yes, and they moved forward. That may have been a "cover-up" for the whole copy-write thing. (shrug) I'm just going off of what I heard as direct from the makers as I can get.
