Hi again

Because I rather ask than be wrong, and dont want to post new topics for every part, I will group all my questions about Obi AOTC/ROTS here.

First about pouches and belt, now about boots.

I find these:

Again same question, are these acceptable?

Thanks Ben

I'm not an offical voice of the RL but i dont think they are acceptable for obi wan kenobi boot, his attack of the clones boots have 3 straps around the top and one at his ankle and his episode 3 boots have just one around the ankle....
Episode 2 boots

Episode 3 boots

Hope this helps

To go against the grain a bit, if I had those boots I would remove the top strap and then use neatsfoot oil to darken the leather.

Alternatively, I would purchase more leather straps and add two to the top. And then use leather dye or neatsfoot oil.

but that's just me.

Ken, it's funny you say that... I just posted an auction thread for a pair of custom-made boots (that don't fit...). Here's the thread:
http://www.rebellegion.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=354458#354458

winring, if your foot/calf measurements fit inside of these parameters, these boots just might be perfect for you. Also consider that both Anakin & Obi-Wan spats are included; combine that with removeable upper straps and it's litteraly having 3 pairs in one...

I felt the need to share this w/ you. Best of luck w/ your Obi creating.

Yeah, Tim, winring won't be able to see your thread because only full Members have access to that forum.

My girlfriend has full account so she check it for me Smile I am thinking about little adjusting them (remove/add straps) but if the color is bad, i rather look somewhere else.

Here is my review of Daniel's boots:
http://www.crazyoldwizards.com.ar/www/cow/boards/forum_posts.asp?TID=419&PN=10&title=new-obi-boot-vendor-on-ebay

It has, IMO, THE most accurate colors for these boots. Soft as butter... custom fit...

And this is how it ended up for my formal Ep III/ROTS costume:
http://www.crazyoldwizards.com.ar/www/cow/boards/forum_posts.asp?TID=578&title=jedi-yarnalas-obiwan-kenobi-ep-iii-costume

and here it is with my formal Ep I/TPM costume:

As the Jedi LCJ for the Rebel Legion, I can say those boots in the first post will not pass for Obi-Wan Kenobi boots. However, they look good for generic Jedi boots.

I post it, because price is very reasonable (+-100$).
Bryanakin: Should they be aceptable after straps adjustment?

Without a spat covering the front face of the boot shaft and ankle, the answer would be no. As Bryan mentioned, the boot as is would be more than fine for any generic Jedi character.

Please bear in mind that anytime you plan to costume as a face character (especially one directly from the films), you will be held to a greater level of scrutiny; accuracy is paramount.
