Such fantastic research and progress already! I bought fabric for this gown back in 2005, and it's been untouched since... so nervous about starting it. I'm really looking forward to following other's progress. It's still one my favorite Padme gowns Smile

Hopefully our research will be able to help you. I know it was very un-nerving cutting into that silk velvet!

Since I didn't have any hand sewing projects, I decided to make clocked stockings. Only finished one so far...

Not the best, it's the first time doing this type of embroidery on the knit of a sock, but fun all the same. I figure if I have to wear pumps with this I'd go Elizabethan and have clocked stockings with them Very Happy

Oh, I hear you there! I absolutely have to have something to work on while watching TV. That's how I got the beading on the bodice done for this costume!

I haven't gotten any further along than my last post because I have been working on Aladdin themed costumes for Halloween and then commissions.

http://costumesandartwork.blogspot.com/2010/10/aladdin-halloween-costumes.html

I'm currently working on a classic Battlestar Galactica Colonial Warrior tunic & pants set for someone. I'm hoping that I can pick back up on my Padme between commissions and get it finished for a troop in early March. *keeps fingers crossed*

Hey, I love the idea of plush Yoda slippers! No one would see them, and my feet would be comfy! Cool

Took a little break to make a Jedi costume for my little cousin... I'm so proud of him! I've taken him as my Padawan Learner... He apparently hasn't taken it off since he got it Wink

Just messing with some techniques on my chemise, tried to Naboo it up a little. It came out kinda nifty. Just have to add some sleeves, collar and hem.

J'adore the stockings Very Happy Totally perfect and I recon you could absolutely make an actual renaissance outfit based on this dress... Hmmm I can think of a few regional styles what could work very well...

Beautiful Vera! I have to ask, are/were you a dancer? Your body position just screams dancer to me (not a bad thing at all you just look like you could have been standing next to me at the barre for all those years!)
