And now you understand why I said screw it and bought one instead of trying to make it.

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Shocked

I am doing the box pleats single wide...

I had to stop and sew the first 12 inches because I came to the bottom of my piece of styrofoam....so I taped, removed, and stitched..

here is some more of the progress photos...

and...

most importantly...

here is a photo of a piece of my flightsuit on top of the jacket fabric...
I think that the fabric that I chose ended up to be a pretty good selection...
as you can see...it has a slight sheen and is lighter than the flightsuit...

and....
truth be told..
once you kinda get a rythem going...
it is almost tolerable...

Neutral

That is amazing, Phyllis. The pleats look really neat and even - it's so cool! (or, I suppose being Snowspeeder gear, warm!)

I had to put the Hoth Snowspeeder Pilot on hold for a while as I worked on a new project...

my kitchen...

I repainted it about 6 years ago based on a color combo chart I found from Behr paints...
it ended up looking like a bad acid trip from the 70's....

I hated it...but because I put so much effort into doing it (kitchen cabinet painting is a severe pain) I thought maybe I would learn to love it...
I didn't ...
so...this week and weekend I have been spending what time I had taking apart cabinets, painting etc...my friend Caroll came by yesterday to help me finish up...

anyway..

before - 70's acid nightmare:

after....but not quite 100% done:

Shocked

lol...one of these days I will get back to my Snowspeeder Pilot costume..
but for now...
busy with Trooper business...
a couple RFT shirts and jackets...
and..

Crix...
your Endor Commando gaiters are sewn.....they just need to have the eyelets put in...I will mark the eyelet locations for you...then..
you get to do the eyelets...
lucky you..

I backed your pair in a dark brown flannel - you won't see that dark brown backing when you have them on...

The fabric that I did the outer layer of the gaiters has been discontinued...
and it is a PERFECT fabric for the ANH replicas and ribbed top for the headpiece on the Endor Commando..

..it is almost a dead match to the real deal ANH-15.....so I am trying to conserve the tan Trigger fabric that I have left...

Phyllis, is that the khaki tan trigger that you made the tan Hoth vest out of?
