Hi guys, I know many have made the foam out of the pink foam, but how about this? http://www.walmart.com/ip/Gold-s-Gym-6-Piece-Puzzle-Mat/11089966 it is basically the same foam that is used in the wedge or flip-flop sandals. this is the same type of material that Stan Winston studios uses for many of there projects. so what do you all think about this for shoes/wookiee feet.

LOL Nice shoes!

I hadn't looked into that kind of foam, but they're certainly cheap enough to have a play with.

I'm sure they'd need some stiffening boards (like ducks wooden 'slat's).

Give them a try! Let us know your progress on them Smile

I would say it depends on what you're wanting to make them for. If you're thinking of just a cushioning at the bottom, I'm sure they would work great. If you're wanting to make platforms in the style of Duck's, I don't think these would work. Unless you cut out a pattern and glued the pieces on top of eachother, but Duck's went basically on it's side if I remember correctly. Though, I may have it completely wrong. I guess what I'm saying is it won't support weight if you use them vertically because it looks like they have too much give. But if you're wanting to say cut out a sandle template on like four of them, glue them all together, then you'd have a 4 + inch thick sandle bottom and I bet that would work just fine.
Hopefully that makes sense...I may pick up some of this though because this is basically the material a lot of Cos Play people use for some pretty awesome costumes
