Wait, don't you mean the grey/white debate? Or the brown/blue debate? Or the amber/light green debate? ROTF

Sorry Phyllis, couldn't resist. Razz

So a tan/gray soft cap went on the orange-but-not-that-orange-a-bit-more-yellow jacket, right?
We're doomed... d (Razz)

BTW, Darth Lars had an interesting cap with the ears that bulges quite fine.
But I'm not sure about the weight - at Jedicon looks not too heavy, somewhat lighter than the original AN-H-15.

Mine had the pattern copied from a RAF Type C. The ears are sewn as cups, not just stretched over my foamy ears. The fabric that I used was a little bit too dark, I think, too light and too stretchy compared to the real thing.

I think that the screen-used fabric could be one of the two fabrics that are on the Hoth Rebel Trooper hat. Compared to my tan Rebel Legion baseball cap (which I think many of us have, I am wearing mine right now Smile ): Both fabrics were about the same weight as the cap's or perhaps a little bit heavier. The lighter fabric was almost white twill. The darker fabric was a softer twill, more brown and less tan. (that is all from memory, though.. I never compared it directly to the cap, which was silly because I had brought it with me)

No, I didn't bring that up to start a color debate. Wink I was just pointing out the difference in the soft helmet vs. the chin strap. Here's the picture I was talking about:

As a side note, does anyone know what the "wire" like thing is? I've seen in on a couple snow speeder pilots. It seems to go up into the helmet...

Yup, that's right. ANH pilots had them too.

So they had a mic and then a separate wire down by their necks for the mic?

Back in 2004 when I did my costume things were a lot more difficult! We didn't have any of the stuff available that people have now!

I also have one of those older Richie's helmets with the mic and cable coming out of the left ear cup.

Just for the heck of it, I mounted a female audio jack on the left side of my still unfinished chest box that I can plug the cable into it.

I'll say that one of the buttons is for the radio, for talking to the ground crew, once I'm out of my ship.
