We have a new Jedi coming to Nar Shaddaa Base...
I will let this person decide whether to reveal themselves ...
or
if they chose to remain hiding from the Sith until they complete their Jedi training..
or...
till I complete this mission..

5 hours of work....
and...
I have the tabards and obi done...

Wink

now to clean the house...
then start on the tunic...

tick tock...

Very Happy

Ok....NOW I am going to clean the house....

I am at the point where I think I will need to have the mystery Jedi come and try on the outer tunic before I sew a neckband...

thankfully...
our mystery Jedi cut out three sleeves....lol..
so hopefully between the 3rd sleeve and a large scrap of the fabric...I can make a neckband...

also...
our mystery Jedi had one of the pieces marked and cut wrong...
lol....
the Mystery Jedi could well be a resident of the laughing academy had they tried to figure out how to put that one together....

Very Happy

ok...lol...got a little of the neckband done...
raised the waistband a bit in the front...
and made the darts at the neck larger to bring the neckline more in line to you neck/back..

and before I go out to tame "jungle world"...

I wanted to pass this along to Janine..

This is the type of belt I was thinking you could modify for your Jedi belt...

http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1vZ1xmi/R-202075862/h_d2/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053

it is 3" wide...which is very cool...
it is leather...
it is inexpensive.....$15.00...can't beat that!
and can be buckled in the back...
you can probably remove the "padding" that is on the inside...
you could even make some kind of cover to hide the buckle in the back..

and you could add some kind of ornamentation/buckle to the front...

for a canon belt...you do have to have a wide belt and a thinner belt.....
I have some thin belts you could add to a belt like the one above..
...so no worries...
and..since it is probably a natural color leather...
I am sure you could dye it a darker brown.....I think that Michaels carries leather dye...and I think I still have a bottle of some really dark brown leather dye...

at any rate...
you get the idea..
and you can't even buy belt blanks at Tandy for this price!
Check Lowe's too....I think they had some wider brown belts...

And...
thanks very much to Janine for the drawing she made of me and R2...
sigh..
I wish I really was as young as the drawing portrays me...
and I am sure that Artoo would be quick to point out that HE should be in front with me in the background...

Very Happy

Thanks for the link!! I'll check out Home Depot on wednesday before we meet up. I can easily get a thin belt from a purse at goodwill. I just wasn't sure how to go about dying leather. Do the thin and thick belt need to be the same base color? Will they dye different shades then? I'll look into this. I saw some different dyes at Michael's.

I drew you young because I believe that you are only as old as you feel. And we all feel pretty old at times, but you are always running around helping everyone. You work hard and are always smiling behind that lightsaber of yours! I appreciate everything you have done for me and so I thought I could give some of my talent to you. I do love Artoo but the drawing was for you not him. If he tries to give you lip, just tell him he was lucky to even be in the pic. I can't draw mechanical things to save my life. Lol

I'm going to hem tomorrow and I'll see you wednesday!! Thanks so much!

Dying leather is fairly easy....
you just use a dauber (I have some) and dip it in the dye...apply quickly and evenly and let it dry...
then I have a sealer so that the dye doesn't come off...which really...unless you get the belt wet...the dye really doesn't come off....
but it is best to put the sealer on...
but no hurry...you have my belt to use Friday night..
...the link to the belt is just one option....
and one that is really less expensive than buying belt blanks from Tandy...

You can be creative with your belt...
the only "rule" for canon Old Republic Jedi is that they be brown and that they have a wider belt and a thinner belt...past that...pretty much anything goes..
the thin and wide belt do not have to be "matchey - matchey"....lol...

The specific costume standards for generic Old Republic Jedi are as follows:

Generic Jedi

Required Items:

Earth tones meaning browns or any shade of brown outer tunic
Earth tone tabards (must extend below obi in front - aprox 1/2 way between obi & bottom of outer tunic / can end at obi in rear)
Earth tone obi/sash
Belt with a wide leather main belt with a covertech, thinner secondary belt on top of the main belt, and a buckle. No black belts accepted.
Lightsaber(No toy sabers)
Boots (leather, suede, pleather) must rise at least to the calf, but not above the knee. No rubber boots or black boots allowed. No visible laces.
Pants or skirt
No visible t-shirts

Formal Requirements:
You must have at least three items from the list to be formal.
Large earth-toned outer robe
Belt pouches
Full or false inner tunic (collar only / full & mock turtlenecks ok)
Food pellets (at least one set of 4)
Covertech clip

I have a whole package of Jedi food pellets - I only need 2 for the Ahsoka, so if you still need some I'd be happy to donate.
