Just wondering if you can brush shell shock directly onto a clay sculpt or would you have to make a mold? Someone told me that it might get too hot and melt the clay. Hopefully I can just brush it on. input?

No you should be able to use the clay without it melting.

Shell shock works just fine on clay... here is a tip though. It will sound crazy but works awesome! Take some spray paint and paint the clay first! It will harden the clay just a bit and allow you to brush the shell shock on without loosing any detail!

Just remember to use a remover/ release agent on the paint so you can separate the two.

Shell shock is a great material for mold making.
