I'm worried about coverage. I've been trying to follow other builds examples on how many hairs to use per knot, how many knots per inch, blow drying teh hair, etc, but It's still seeming patchy.

Any advice?

how many rows have you done?, because the length of the hair is what "fills" out the costume as well. If you place to much hair too close together you will look like a puff ball.

use 15-30 hairs each knot....The secret to all this is using the thinning sheers after all this latching is done. Dont use extremely long strands of hair. I used 16" lenghts folded and latched to about 8.5".

I'm about ten inches up the ankles, and that's why I was getting concerned, because the bottom looked patchy, and the new hair i was latchhooking was no longer covering it.

The strands Im using are around 20 in long, 10 folded over, give or take.
I tried doing a bit with more hairs, around 15-20, and it looks like its covering more, so I think I may just keep on trying that.

Thanks guys

dont worry, the overlapping hairs from each row will fill in the rows below it. After all the latching is done. Thinning out the suit is important.

Okay, I've definitely started to speed up. Hopefully that means I'm getting better and not just sloppy.

I had a question on chewies grey patches....Do i just do ALL of that area in the grey, or is it the blonde underneath with the grey overlaying it?

Dart,

Whats your method of feeding the hair for latch hooking?

Right now i'm laying the bundle of hair on my lap with a cloth band holding it at one end, but this seems to be keeping my progress slow.

I have a 12x7 dorm room, so it was a bit tricky. I tie the hair at the end with an elastic loosely, then I put a heavy book on top of it and pull the hair out. I lay what im latchhooking on my bed, lay the hair along side it, and sit on a chair at the edge of my bed. I take some old shirts and stuff the mesh as I go tto make it easier.

If I try to pull too many hairs at once, or I pull the wrong hair, it would knot up and I'd pull out a huge clump or tangle it. So I had to go slow, and pull from the sides/end of the bundle. but I got the hang of ti after a while.
