Max Lacewell Foundation fundraiser

Back in March of 2009 (see this thread)

http://www.rebellegion.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16494 ,

we were contacted by Make A Wish to grant the wish of a 5 year old with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG)- an very rare brain cancer. We did indeed grant Max's wish of battling Darth Maul.

Several months later, Max passed away and because we had been such a large part of the day that he proclaimed as his "best day evah", we were asked to appear at his life celebration.
see this thread

http://www.rebellegion.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18242

We were again contacted awhile ago to become part of Max's legacy as his parents have set up a foundation in his name to raise money for research and to provide support to other parents whose children face this killer-the survival rate is less than 10%. Last night the Foundation had a fundraiser. Because of the nature of the fundraiser last night, only 4 participants were allowed...I was grateful to be one of the 4. The 4 picked were those of us who played the largest role in his first fundraiser.

We started the evening posing for photos and schmoozing with the crowd at the fundraising gala. When dinner was served, we retreated to our room at the facility and waited for our "grand finale".

The Midwest Garrison put up us as a prize for the auction. A party with us was one of only 4 live auction prizes. A couple from the area bid $700.00 for us to appear at a party they will set up for their son for his birthday in March. When the auction for our appearance started..we made our way out to the dance floor to try and entice good bidding...

We found out this morning that another person came up to Max's mom and offered another $700.00 for the Foundation for us to make an appearance at a party for them...of course...we will.

Mingling...

Two Sith Lords....No waiting..

More photos....most courtesy of our photographer for the night..
Janine...

Awesome!

And....the neck seal looks pretty good....
I sent the new one yesterday and hopefully, it will fit under your tunic a little better to cover up the seam of the mask....

If not....I can try again...

the front of the neckseal I just sent goes down a little farther in the front than the sides...

Wink

and yeah...
signing autographs at Library events are NOT easy...lol..
one of them I did I had on my TK...
it was sooooo hot in the Library that even with fans on my lenses on the Stormtrooper were completely fogged up...
coupled with the fact that I can't wear my glasses under the helmet...and can't see anything close without them..
I was completely blind trying to sign autographs...
thankfully..
all I had to write was "TK1951"

the neck seal worked pretty good, it covered the bottom of the mask without it coming out. my tunic opened up towards the end of the troop so you could see my shirt under the bottom of the seal, but all in all it worked well
i have submitted plo koon, hopefully he might be formal soon

Actually John...

do you have a close up photo of the hands?

Or if you have a hi res photo...we can crop that down to show the hands close up...

another thing I found is that according to the current costume standard..
the robe is required..

here is a copy and paste of the current standard:

Plo Koon (Episode I: The Phantom Menace / Episode II: Attack of the Clones)

Required Items:

Accurate mask and hands

Dark brown floor-length outer robe with attached tabards and V-shaped neckline

Cinnamon brown false inner tunic

Ochre/Tan undertunic with wide-ribbed collar to cover bottom of mask

Non-toy lightsaber hilt or custom lightsaber hilt

Recommended but not Required:

Plo Koon Hero lightsaber hilt

Correct color lightsaber blade

One thing I did note is that this standard only includes PM and AOTC..
off the top of my head..
I can't remember
but
was Plo Koon shown in ROTS without a robe?

i can only remember seeing plo being shot down in ROTS, pretty sure he had a robe on then. there seems to be so many other variations of him in comics, video games, action figures and art that are all different (robe/no robe, variatons of colours of his cloths and even colour of his lightsabre)

if he is judged as informal for now that is ok, i had never sbmitted a picture of my latest tunic anyway so it needed doing. maybe at a later date i will have a robe made
i can send you a pic of the hands
