|
|
|
Ok, I am trying to remove the led blade from my stock Anakin FX Saber. I found one site, I think Saber Shop, that explained how to take this one apart, however, when I tried it on mine, it only damged the hilt and buttons trying to remove them to get to the screws.
If you have successfully done this, could you please offer some advice on how you did it? Thank you very much! |

Ken you may want o try over at the FX Sabers boards www.fx-saber.com. these forums are full of Sabersmiths who do this very thing or build them from scratch i am sure someone over there has done it and there might even be a tutorial. _________________ "Anakin, this path has been placed before you. How did you damage the hilt?
What was the damage to the buttons?
(I mean like scratches, chips, etc.) _________________

The webpage said to use a small thin screw driver to pry off the buttons. Well I tried that and the buttons never moved. Instead my prying only chipped the buttons! |

I know from experience that FX sabers have some insane glue. I just did it on the one I have and it chipped too. I would say try and pry them off again by working it gently and try not to break them. It's the only way to get them off. As for the chipping sand it down and repaint.
Are you going for a belt hanger or a convertion?
Fx-sabers.com has been down for a few days but they're working on getting it back up. _________________

Thanks for the tip. I will see what I can do with this.
Belt hanger for CV, but eventually a lux conversion |

I'd say just do the conversion and take it to CV that way you don't have to take the saber apart anymore. _________________

Yes FX is down unfortunately due to some repairs from a virus. You can find the same tutorials used there on TCSS forums as well. Go to this link: http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/forums/
Should have the tutorial for conversion and also all the parts you need on the main site to get you going again. |

Sorry, bad link. I don't use that forum hardly ever but have been a bit since FX has been down. Here is the good one: http://forums.thecustomsabershop.com/ |
