I was quite impressed with the show of force Carida and Echo brought to this event. I think it's fair to say that this event holds a special place in the hearts of many members .We all met at the Runners House to prepare for what proved to be nothing short of an amazing day. It was optimum trooping weather; not to hot, not too cold,.. a comfortable breeze with just enough sun, literally a perfect Spring day.

The majority of us were on site btwn 8:30-8:45am to greet the registrants and provide photo opportunities to friends, families, supporters and enthusiasts prior to the event start.

At 9:45am we loaded onto the Western Salisbury Fire Dept. Truck to begin the Opening Ceremonies. Engine No. 31 delivered us in force to the eagerly awaiting crowd. People by the dozens gathered quickly as we proceeded to the bridge to begin the official countdown. As the countown came to a finish the walkers began their 2 hour task. We headed down to the Reception Area to meet , greet, encourage, and "well wish" the participants. As the walk portion of the event ended, the entertaiment began. There were plenty of activities for all including a pretty decent cover band, who encouraged our Members to join them onstage on more than one account.

The happy faces the members brought to the young and old alike was indescribable. This Event truly encapsulates what we are about, as a Garrison, Base, and two Legions. I will look forward to trooping this event for many years to come.
