Just a friendly reminder, Now that the Con season is upon us. I know most of us are seasoned travelers however. If you traveling by air NO REPICIA WEAPONS ARE PERMITTED through airport screening . Put ALL your replica/ prop firearms, weapons, armor, etc especially metal ones in your Checked luggage and let the airline and TSA know they are props. Yes, Even if they are in your Checked luggage let them know you have prop weapons. I have responded to several calls lately concerning prop weapons and air soft guns at the security checkpoints and checked baggage. Some times the inline luggage scanners pick up the replica weapons as real and then TSA calls Law enforcement to check the weapons out. You can’t fly and you may be detained until we go down into the vast luggage system under the airport to check your bag and say “yep not a real weapon.”

I know it is spring break and so far no 501st or RL members were involved, but I would like to avoid it being one of us. On one call in checked baggage I had to talk my partner out of confiscating one non- firing metal replica Mac-10 since the orange plug was removed from the barrel. Other Law Enforcement officers are not as pro costume as I am.

Augie

Thanks for the heads up. I know when Trent and I fly with the costumes, he always puts photos of us in costumes inside so anyone can see what it's used for and that it's a prop.
