So I'm building a Lak Sivrak, working out the details over on the 501st, however after he was imperial scout Lak became a rebel so would he fit?

I can't speak for the LMO but it seems that he would qualify according to the Wookieepedia article.

Yes it would seem logical, not to mention his story in Tales from the cantina.

He was also one of the Cantina Scene aliens that we see, very briefly, if I am not mistaken. There was also an action figure of him, as well. So, there should be several sources to make a go at him.

Looking forward to seeing the progress on this costume!

Yes he in in the cantina in the original, but they removed him in the special edition which kind of bums be out. ; / And yea there is an action figure, which why I built a new and very interesting way to injure myself. ;>

Built of "stilts" that prove the hinge but, how to hide them... Also as Lak is seen in the movie, only chest up, does that mean there are two variations? Anyway I got my prosthetic werewolf face in today so I want to test it out and I will get some pics of that.

There were actually two distinctly different 'wolfman' characters in the cantina:

Lak Sivrak and Arleil Schous.

Arleil Schous was the one with the glowing eyes. The mask are pretty different, so you may want to take a look at which one you want to do. Arleil Schous was also a Rebel contact according to the wiki, so it would also be fine for the RL.

Shooting for Lak... I am working on one costume that will go both ways. ;> Rebel and Imperial and I'm hoping Lak will too... But as I started the process on the 501st I have to consider "as good as or better", so I am l trying a prosthetic werewolf face, which came in today. Going to get some spirit gum and test fit it tomorrow.

Personally, I don't see why either costume wouldn't be allowed in the RL regardless of what some second-rate comic story says is the character's history.

I mean it was a wolfman drinking a beer for goodness sake!

Unless it was obvious in the movie(s), I don't think we at the RL should declare an affiliation for a given background character and base our acceptance on it.

But that's just me.

Dunno... Everyone in the cantina had their own story, so I would think they should be up for grabs, their backgrounds were decided by the people who wrote the stories, and then thats just the authors opinion.

This costume would be acceptable for RL approval.

Do you have a good source for fake fur? I need some for my own Defel costume.

Haven't looked into fur yet, I'm thinking some kind of hair from a Halloween store may have the best look... I may try and get away with my own hair for the most part and disguise the rest of my face with fur...

Playing around trying to figure the face out, just a quick test... Need to figure out how to deal the hair but the prosthetic looks good.

You could do what I am planning on doing with my Borsk mask, which is to glue your facial prosthetics onto a some sort of latex hood and punch your hair into that.

Time consuming, but I think it would be time well spent, probably.
