This news came out last month.

I wonder what the connectors are going to look like.

I wouldn't be surprised if they are keyed so that you can't swap blade colors between sabers. That way, you couldn't do something like put a red blade into an Anakin saber.

I don't know, I could see it as non-saber keyed for two reasons:

1) It would be cheaper to buy a bunch of a single style than some of each (along with the additional labor cost caused in keeping track of which part goes on which saber and the repair cost when someone grabs the wrong bin).
2) I'm sure they would be more than happy to sell a second complete saber just so you can swap the blade. Laughing

Now if only Hasbro can get rid of the problem their electronics have with rechargable batteries...

Well, everyone I know of, especially local area, that has a Hasbro FX instead of the MR has said that the Hasbro's pretty much fry out the rechargeables after a couple minutes, leaving them drained. One of our local Dookus has the FX Dooku hilt, and he can't use rechargeable batteries because the electronics drain them rapidly for some reason. A few other people have noted the problem to me, hence why I'm glad my FX is an MR.

YES YES YES YES!!! And YES!!! I wonder if there will be much of a price differential between what's available now, and these--hopefully not much of one considering saber conversions are not fun for the thin of wallet Embarassed
Hopefully they'll bring back the Luke ROTJ model in a detachable-blade unit, and maybe the Luke ANH and ESB. It'd be SWEET if I could revise my personal Skywalker-family FX collection with hilts which I can both troop with AND duel with.
This is AWESOME news!!

It is and yet I have a feeling they'll be removing the leds from the blade since it will be removable...unless I missed reading that they aren't

Why would they be removing the LEDs from the blades? Customers won't want to lose the scrolling extension and retraction effect.

And I'm pretty sure that LFL won't want to endorse a product with the liability that someone could damage their eyes with the blade out, by using a single, high powered LED in the hilt, like is done in conversions.

Having an exposed Class 2 laser device, which is how the high powered LEDs are classified, probably wouldn't be something that they'd want to sell.
