Very nice boots.

Glad to hear you are back to working on this.

Congratulations on your engagement!

Also, congrats on the engagement! Deliah got herself a man. ^^

The gogo boots are looking very good. The should suit a Zeltron party girl just fine.

Thanks for the congrats! Smile Hoping to finish up the gauntlets very soon and start in on learning to use a serger so I can make the actual outfit. I'm being slowed down on prop progress because the powerful Dremel seems to have gone missing in the move.

It's not my fault!

Ann Marie, your gonna have to show me how to recover those boots like that. That is a very handy skill to have and I have screwed up a pair of boots or two trying that in the past!

Adam- I think you know it is

Will do Duck, I did do the one boot three times before I actually figured it out. And my method only work with stretchy fabric.

Right now the problem I'm having is trying to figure out how to make the rectangular cut-outs in the lycra without having them completely deform into oval when the outfit stretches on me without adding something bulky underneath. So far I've only tried a few options including fusible interfacing and fusible webbing, and I have some Loctite plastic/vinyl/fabric glue curing at home to try as well. Don't suppose anyone has any enlightening thoughts on the manner?

about the only thing I can think of would be backing it with interfacing. I think you already had that as an idea though.
The boots and the gauntlet looks great so far! Oh, and congratulations on the engagement.

Awesome work on the gauntlets and boots so far! I think you're best bet for keeping the lycra from stretching out of shape would be interfacing to help it keep its shape. Looking forward to seeing the whole thing. Very Happy

So my serger is still being problematic and my seams aren't coming out the way I would like. But I have new needles on order and a new presser foot that will hopefully alleviate the problem.

In absence of garment progress I have finished up the gauntlets and started on the belt pieces.

I apologize for the photo quality, used my phone so I could upload before work.

To seal up the gauntlets around my wrist I ended up using craftfoam, magnetic tape and some gold fabric scraps. Much comfier than the sintra ones I had planned on using.

I've done the center buckle and one of the four side belt adornments. Now I just have to sculpt three more identical ones!...oh and make the actual outfit Wink

Nice work on the gauntlets! For sculpting the buttons I'd suggest checking out the sculpey/craft clay section at your local craft store for mold making clay. You press the item you want to copy into it, let it dry or bake it then make your copies from that.

Thanks for the advice Lisa. I'd even recommended a similar technique to someone for their costume, and hadn't even thought of doing it for my own!

I finished up the gaunts and belt pieces and am endeavoring to not lose my sanity with this fabric. I now think I'm going to have to get a different fabric for the blue so that I can try and maintain the shape of the rectangle cutouts.

But at least the hard pieces are going well Smile

The little golden circled applications are looking like cookies. *i'm hungry*

But seriously: The parts are coming together very nice. I'm thrilled to see the parts together on the costume and you with pink skin. ^^

Super long time since I updated, but I have been working on it I swear! See?!?!

Ignore the silly grin on my face, I was just glad that I had the pants nearly done on the second attempt.

The top is obviously not done, and it will wrinkle less when complete. I still need to pattern out the black straps, they attach weird to the top so I decided to make myself a base and build on that. I haven't done the armwraps yet, but I have the fabric now. And obviously I need to do the cutouts in the sides of the pants.

But! Gauntlets are done, belt is done, boots are done! Top and pants are in the homestretch!

Phew! Because as soon as I finish I've gotta help some other people finish up their Legacy costumes so I'll have my group to wear it with!!
