we decided to sacrifice my outbound flight Ani to make the pattern... I'll let you know how that goes... also, do you think 9 yards will be enough for the tunic, tabs and obi?

It really all depends on your size. I know for me the tunic alone took aprox 5 yards. 9 should be enough, but can't tell you for sure.

9 yards should be more than enough. I typically use about 6 or so for a full tunics, obi, and tabards set, but that's with the crinkle on the obi running horizontal, and double wrap length no less, so 9 will give you a LOT of room to work with.

yeah... I'm sure it'll be good... does anyone have a link to where I might be able to find a fabric for the under tunic?

Kay_Dee here in Endor Base found the actual fabric that was used for the film-used tunic, at the same store Trisha Biggar bought it! I'm not sure if SiaLan Wezz still has some of that fabric still, or if its all gone and she's using something close. She bought the remainder of the bolt some years ago from that store, and its no longer available.

Well... I found someone to make my tunic without destroying my other costume, so that's awesome... still looking for the inner tunic fabric.

I don't want to do it, but would a dickey be acceptable until I get fabric for the whole thing, or should I just wait?

Not an LCJ myself, but considering that Hayden and Ewan's costumes both had dickies instead of full inner tunics, what matters is what's seen. A dick would actually be easier too, since it's less cumbersome, and easier to manage. Plus, you only need one inner sleeve, since your right hand and outer sleeve are inside the glove

As far as the inner fabric, I believe standards are a close colored textured fabric, the actual fabric used was a silk stretch crepe. Probably pricey and gonn'a be a bit difficult to work with since it's silk, but if you can get it in the right color, worth it. It's actually a lighter brown than the outer tunic, so also keep that in mind. I'm actually in the process of getting supplies to redo my tunics due to sun fading, and to get them darker again than my inner collar and sleeve

I would suggest one of two things.

1: Send one of the Jedi LCJ's what you are wanting to do; before you do it. That way they can tell you if it'll work before you spend any money.

2: Post your ideas on www.sonsofthesuns.com Just about anyone there will be able to tell you if it will work or not.
