We did a base costume around CIV in Ra Kura for Endor Commandos... think it would be nice to continue the tradition even though I'm in a different base this year.

Since CV is around the corner, and I've been working with a supplier to create affordable and accurate pilot parts, and the base trying to get a squadron off the ground, why not rebel pilots.

Basically anyone interested can post in the thread. Starting after the new year, we'll start getting parts together. Any questions or needs can be posted here and we'll do group orders of things to save on shipping and time.

I can help with sewing harnesses and small items, assembly and painting of chestboxes and helmets. With the ultimate goal of having a couple of pilots by CV!

Other bases and 501st members are welcome to come along for the ride!!

Want to toss around the idea of maybe getting a gathering of pilots/potential pilots in Nashville after the new year? It would be nice to actually meet people face to face and have a brainstorming session. Maybe this could turn into work sessions on costumes and such.

Just an idea.

the thread on the MSG boards is really taking off. So we will have several folks over there interested in crossing over to the light, even if it is as a spy Smile

So after the holidays we'll get cracking and everything being worked on will be cross posted here and there.

Gatherings will be work centric most likely. A member of MSG has offered work space in Franklin just south of Nashville Smile We'll probably move around a little to try to get as many people involved as we can with each 'armor party'

Fortunately, most of the major areas in our base are within 4 hours +/- of Nashville. Workshops could be held in Memphis, Knoxville, Chattanooga, Louisville, Lexington. The only area I am not familiar with as far as member saturation is Mississippi.

If we could perhaps get an idea as to who is interested in participating in this project then set up a work schedule. I would suggest we get moving on this pretty fast because CV/August will be here before you know it.

Personally I think it would be a lot of fun to go to more than just a local workshop. Getting to meet RL members in a non convention, much more relaxed atmosphere, would be a great opportunity.

Workshops arent required at all either. Working along to the pictures we post works as well. Mailing parts to folks may be cheaper than driving to and from workshops.

No one is required to be done by a certain time, or to work at the same speed as the rest of the group! Smile

I'll be watching the thread here and over on the other boards to relay to the AL pilots-in-progress. If any of those workshops are on the south side of TN, I can relay those over as well if that's alright Smile

Almost there...

The only thing I'm stuck on (and the only thing left I need to do) is he hose connection to the suit. I ordered some magnets, but they must not be the right kind. Once I glued them on the hose gasket, they didn't seem nearly as strong as I thought. It didn't have the slightest pull through the jumpsuit. I might try the magnet thing again, but has anyone tried something different?
