Heh. To me, more like, "Hey you dang Jawas, leave my moisture vaporators alone!"

I finished mine a few weeks ago, but I haven't submitted it yet. I still want to retake the photo that I want to be used as my profile pic.

I had a chance to get some professional photographs taken back in June. Some of my Facebook friends, like Jada, have already seen them.

Here's a few:

My darn vest pulled out from under my vest in the above pic. Neutral

Damn, it looks like there's a sand storm on the way here.

I had to do a poncho.

Ready for the sand storm that's coming.

You can see the fake sweat stains on my hat in the high res image.

"Come back here, droid!"

Blaster pistol for those Close Encounters of the Criminal Kind while in Mos Espa. (I keep my blaster rifle locked to my land speeder. Wink )

Close up of my pistol and droid caller on my belt.

More photos here in my album:
http://s16.photobucket.com/albums/b8/JediLoreen/Moisture%20Farmer

Don't have all of them from the photo shoot.

I should probably load a few of the high res images, too.

Very cool. I know Mark didn't have to add fake sweat stains to his hat, one convention last august and the goggles up top acting as a steamer took care of that. lol.

Did you wear the goggles by letting them actually rust or just fake that? They look cool.

Nope, those goggles were brand new, still had the protective film over the lenses, the frames around the lenses are plastic, not metal, so they wouldn't really weather in an interesting way by themselves, anyway. I used rust, gold and black paints to weather them. I suppose I didn't have to weather those, but everything else is worn, dirty and/or "sweaty" looking, so I didn't want to have pristine goggles, they wouldn't have looked right, to me.

I used some old brewed coffee on the had for the sweat stains on the hat. After a few days, the coffee smell went away.

Thanks, Jada. Most of the parts I bought, either I already had them, found them at a thrift store, or bought them online, but everything had to be modified, in some way. The only things I made completely from scratch were the poncho and the droid caller.

My costume was just approved as Formal. Very Happy

I'm the first truly generic Moisture Farmer in the Legion.

So Novahawk, when are you going to submit yours? raise eyebrows You said yours was done back in January, but I beat you for submission. Razz Maybe because I did my weathering as I went along.

Lori,

Been so busy I keep forgetting to chime in here.

I just wanted to say DANG!! You really outdid yourself on this one! I don't even know where to begin! Amazing detail and even more importantly, you NAILED the overall look- something that is not easy with a 'generic' character. You really captured the ANH costume design aesthetic.

I'm so disappoined you won't be at CV with this!

Thanks Mark. I appreciate the praise. Very Happy

To make my costume more "authentic", in some of my many vest pockets, I carry a couple of small, old circuit boards ("condenser circuits) and various weathered plumbing connectors, like I'd probably have with me if I was really working on my moisture vaporators. Wink

I kept everything in earth (sand) colors to "blend in" with the Tatooine surroundings.

I wish I could make it to CV, this would be a really easy costume to pack. It's got the smallest of accessories of any of my costumes.

Well Novahawk and I visited some of the units in the south range, but we didn't get them repaired by mid-day. There's gonna be hell to pay...

Pics soon!

Hoping to resurrect this old thread and get some new moisture farmers on board! Harvest time is coming up and we can use all the help we can get!
