So, if all else fails, I'm flexible for both Oct. 29th and Oct. 30th, but would prefer Oct. 30th since it's a Friday, I will be in play mode and live less than 2 minutes from the Concord/Pleasant Hill Spirit Store (been there, done that, saw it, fun!).

To troop or not to troop...In any event, it doesn't matter to me. If you need me, I'll do my best efforts to show up and make a good appearance for the Rebel Legion.

Thanks Robin, I have your availability noted. So far it is looking like the 28th may be the day since Jessica and Tony signed up through the 501st for it, but I think Tony is tentative. So the plans are still in motion...

Hey Robin and Scott,

Although the 501st filled the two open slots at Concord on the 29th with a TI Pilot and Juno, we asked Mary if it would be OK for our two RL volunteers to join them. She said it was fine! So Robin, you can join as a Jedi in Concord on the 29th. Scott, we are just waiting for confirmation if Mary meant you could be a Jedi or handler (as we've been discussing via e-mail).

Mary said to thank you both for volunteering!

So they're accepting more than two people at each location?

Not in those exact words.

All I can say is that I got back to Mary letting her know we didn't have anyone to fill Antioch. I only had 2 volunteers for Concord, but the 501st had already filled the two spots. Both our RL volunteers were Jedi, one could be either a handler or a Jedi... would it be OK if they attended. Mary said "It would be great if they both went. Please tell them thank you!"

So, no, she didn't say anything like 'more than two people can attend'. She just said that it would be OK for our two RL members to join in at Concord, even though 501st already filled it.

P.S. And yes, Ed D. knows all about it. He and I kicked around the idea of seeing if Spirit or Mary wouldn't mind getting an extra character from RL thrown in despite the two spots being filled by 501st.

What time does the concord meetup take place at?
And would they be willing to accept an extra X-Wing Pilot?

You know, I don't know if I want to bother Mary about asking for lots of extra people there. As it is she was generous in saying OK to our two Jedi who signed up, and an extra stormtrooper also signed up at GGG so this event seems quite full in Concord when they only requested 2 people per location.

Antioch is still unfilled, if you want to see about volunteering there Tom.

Scott and I went to the Concord store last night and they are almost cleaned out. By the time Friday rolls around there may not be anything left in the store. Scott is going by to talk to the manager today.

Well, just keep in mind this was a request that Spirit Halloween gave to Mary Franklin - to have a few Star Wars costumers there. I think if any changes happen that it would need to funnel through Mary in some manner. So just kind of tip toe around it. Even Lego/DK got upset when people were doing harmless things like calling to find out the parking situation, LOL!

Scott was just going over to introduce himself to the manager and find out what they expect of us for Friday. That is all.

Sounds reasonable Smile Even Mary was not quite sure what they wanted us to do specifically. I almost envisioned that they could easily be wanting us to be 'the guy' in the costume outside of the store trying to draw in business. And maybe thought to ask Mary for SW Characters since LFL has that Celebration marketing campaign in the store? I say, bring your business cards and trading cards because if people ask you about your costumes you might as well pimp the clubs. They are not going to find your exact costumes inside of Spirit (though, maybe they will be inspired to buy the rubies versions?). And well, we are not getting paid to be their 'costume guy' so the least we should be able to do is pimp the clubs if someone has an interest.

So would it be out of line to call the store, say, the day before as to what they want us exactly to do?

I dunno, let me run it by Ed D. to see what he thinks. I mean, you could always just show up and get your directions when you get there as to where they want you to be hanging out.

Matt - don't see any issues calling the store or as Kathy noted asking them when you get there.

Btw - see my question on the GGG board.

Scott and I are still on for this event! The funeral is not until early next week.
