If the costume does not have a dedicated thread, please post all questions about the costumes (in the topic title above) here.

I'm working on the night gown with the pearls on the arms from ROTS. It's basically finished. I just noticed the guidelines for this costume and realized that I need to have the faggoting panels down the front. I don't have that on my costume at this point.

has anyone done this yet?
How did you do the faggoting?

I asked about it an the heirloom sewing store here and there was a woman there that was said to be an expert at faggoting. She said I should get some flesh colored ribbon and do the faggoting stitch with blue embrodery thread and then sew it into place. Then i wouldn't have puckering etc.

I was just wondering if anyone had actually done this costume with the fagotting?

Would this costume be approved without the faggoting down the front?

I did the faggoting for the costume. Mine's not perfect because mine is a zigzag stitch ratehr than the x shaped stictch. I just found a fancy stitch on my sewing machine and sewed the panels together. Here's a picture:

Does anyone know of a tutorial for the broach thing on the front of the lavender nightgown Padme wore in ROTS?

I would like to know if anyone has made some type of pattern.
What materials are used to make it?
what are the dimensions is the piece?
(I don't want to make it too big) LOL

Or does anyone have a really good front on picture of their broach that I could enlarge to copy?

I just got this costume finished. I'm not entirely happy with the faggotting or the broach, but they came out pretty good.

Thank you! It was very well received at Dragon*Con and I didn't see a bunch of people walking around in this costume. It was very comfortable.....especially compared to some of the other costumes I wore. LOL

I do hope you are signed in on your Significant Other's account.

The profile photo doesn't really look like someone who could pull off the Pregnant Padme costume quite as convincingly as some people could!

The wife was signed in under my account ( 4 some reason). She's Kayia Securra on the boards. ( I think) She's needing the info cause her jedi and imperial officers outfits are getting smaller around the waist band (for some strange reason LOL). Any direction will be grateful. obiwan

I used the Simplicity pattern for my costume, however it's definitely not maternity. i think that's why my faggotting didn't lay exactly right. There isn't as much fabric on my costume as there is on the original so there wasn't as much place for the faggotting to lay.
I think you could adjust this pattern some to make it fit for pregnancy.

You could also do the Mustafar outfit. it's fairly simple and looks even better with the little belly pooch a real pregnant person would bring. Smile

That is the one that I want to do. Just not sure how to do the buckles she needs for the belts that cross and broach. I think I could get some one to help me with the making of the costume I just need help with how or where to get the broach and buckles.
