Today at the Miricle Walk in Verona, NJ a great event happened. Through postive talks and a little dealing, a trade between I and a former member of the base (Reaper) granted the reaquirement of an Echo Base banner.

Tim has really jumped into this group full force, and as a Rebel he still makes more NER events than most of the NER members - and always contributes to the Event Station set up.

As such I've discussed with our CO Jeff and he agreed that any event with any RL member gets equal sharing even if the request was to the 501st - The RL banner is always next to the 501st, and the table is a complete mix of RL and Imp swag... activity books, recruitment sheets, cards, tattoos you name it it's there in equal amounts Wink

Our way to show that we want the two groups to really co-exist, the only thing we need is a little more RL swag, lol...

Excellent job, I'm thrilled! Amadalia *claps*

It's lovely to see how well our groups can get along and I can't wait to see the banner!

Plenty of activity books.

Need: more Tattoos, mini-buttons

Looking for new items.

Great news.

Banner: Ed (Reaper) actually had one of the two Echo Base banners. Is Ed giving back that banner to Echo Base?

Swag: I have a stock of tattoos that I purchased for event handouts, plus my trading cards and a few group trading cards. I can send a box out to you to either/both Navajo Bro (Terry Browning) or Endorscout64 (Tim Levan). Just let me know who to send box(es) to.

Yes, the banner is back in Echo Base, however as I understand it Tim actually negotiated a trade using his own items (I didn't realize Ed had the banner, I prob could have got it back, lol, sorry!)

And Mary Alice, if you could send some swag to both of us it would be great. Tim definately needs some as he does Carida Events and other events I don't make, but I do represent the RL often now in my Neyo and Jedi, and I like having materials for both groups (I print tons of activity books myself, and have a "sign up" sheet for people interested in obtaining more info. Plus the action figure displays and RL patches)

Thanks!! I'll PM my addy

I spoke to Ed a while ago about this banner, and all that had to happen for him to return it to the base was for Mary Alice to call and ask for it, and cover the cost that he paid out of his own pocket for it.

I'm pretty sure I relayed the message to Mary Alice, so I have to suppose that never happened.

Since Tim laid out his own stuff to secure the banner, I'd say the base owes him for not having to purchase another banner...

Ed went MIA for a while last year or so, he started up a Battlestar Galactica costuming group that took a lot of time and effort, and he was total ghost on the NER boards and hard to get a hold of on our end too...

I know there were issues (but don't know specifics) but I believe that is all past now, he's back troopin' with us and in good spirits Wink

Tim can post if he chooses, but he definately went above and beyond to get that banner back and what he traded was to me a huge deal... i ceraintly give him credit Razz

I give Tim credit as well, but I still feel he should be reimbursed whatever he paid to get the banner back since the base no longer has to pay to get a new one...

Good job Tim! I have a box of PVC Greedo figures that are left over from the Philly Museum troop in 2008. I'd like to donate them to the base. I'll hand them over to Bro next weekend at the event here and he can pass them along to someone up north so they can eventually reach MA for safe keeping.

No Gil, I was never given this info.

Regardless, It was about 2 years ago when I first took over the Hawkbats... I was looking into purchasing another banner, but that thread is long gone.

That's unimportant, what about Tim getting his money back?

.... They I was in a pitted combat with Ed...blaster fire everywhere and lightswords going woom woom woom... Razz

Truthfully, Ed was a great sport about this, and just geniue curious about an item I had brought to a previous event he and I attended together by chance (The Make A Wish picnic on 9/20 in Edison, NJ). The item in question was an IN helmet that was apart of a costume I traded for over the summer. The helmet was too big for me to wear, so I decided to use it as a prop piece.

At Edison, Ed was talking with group and had noticed me putting up the helmet, he asked me if he could try it on, I had no objections. He put on the helmet and the two of marvelled that the helmet fit him perfectly. I asked him if he wanted it-I saw that the helmet caught his fancy-he asked me for a price, I gave one; he told me he would think about it.

At the end of the event, Ed came by the table as I was breaking it down and asked me how much would I pay for a RL banner, I offered a payment-was the same I offered for the helmet, he requested a trade (helmet/banner) we agreed. He aked me what events I would doing after this one, I mention Verona, he said he would be at the same event. On the day of and while the group was meeting at the park, Ed and I made the trade.

Compensation.

I really don't see the reason for it, it was an equal trade an item in need for an item in need, but if the mindset is locked in to give compensation, then a few patches:

(1) 3.5 RL patch
(1) 3.5 Echo Base patch

Dare I say it...it will be a day long remembered. I wonder if this means Ed has inclinations towards the RL again??

He's friendly toward the RL, but I think with everything going on in his sitution (other clubs) I do not think he will rejoin.
