You know that I would not be able to resist posting these...

Very Happy

and...

I'm bummed...
I didn't get a photo of "Dr. Crix" making a house call on R2....
I guess I was so wrapped up in what I was doing that I missed a perfect photo of Crix taking the drill to R2.....instead of a Doctor's case...there was the tool box with the drills...

R2 now stands straight and proud...but I still have work to do on my little buddy...

Very Happy

wow this is cool..
as soon as Jim gets approved...which should not be a problem..
and all Phyllis needs is here Chest box.
we can send in the "application to form a RLSC base Squadron"

we all agree on "Outlaw Squadron"

everyone can pick their own numbers
so far:
Andrew "Jack Killian" Marsh- Outlaw 6
Thomas "Crix" Turner - Outlaw 13

we need to pick:
Squadron Commander and
Squadron Executive Officer

also we need to get support/approval of this Squadron
as well as the proposed Squadron Command Unit from the Base Commander

I do believe that we dont need to have a "Crest" yet.
so we have time to come up with more Ideas

Well my app is in...

Again, thanks a ton Phyllis and Tom for your help. I really appreciate everything. I love the fact that our costumes have become colaborative projects.

I can still be of assistance...

If you do decide to do X-Wing...
all of the information on the stuff I made
and the three of us went with is here:
(you have to join the group to see the links and tutorials)
http://movies.groups.yahoo.com/group/outlawsquadron/

If you need help with any of it...
just let me know...
I am sure we can work it out

What has occured to me recently is that mostly all of the Rebel Troopers and Pilots are here in Illinois
and all of the important face characters are in Wisconsin...
so
starting to get Troopers/Pilots in Wisconsin
and face characters in Illinois is a good thing...

Very Happy

THANK YOU TO:
Jim....for all of those flares....leg and mini
and especially to Crix
for the code cylinders (they are awesome!!), hose, hose end, and gloves..
but most of all for inspiring us to do this..
and also your repairs to R2's legs...
With R2 standing straight now...I can move on to the other challenges of his 3 leg stance...

And...
since we aren't really following a strict number system...
I will take Outlaw 5...

Wedge's call sign was Red 2 wasn't it? If it is...then I am sure Jim will want Outlaw 2....
Wink

I think that I will start a new thread just for "Outlaw" stuff....don't want all of that to get lost in here...

Wink

btw...
in reading through the X-Wing standards..
I did see that if you were applying for a face pilot...
that you did need the appropriately painted helmet...
unless I mis-read it...

so

Jim...
you may get rejected as "Wedge" until you get and paint your helmet...

If they do reject the app as "Wedge"...
then just apply for a regular Pilot..
then when you get your helmet..
and paint it...
submit a second app for the Wedge "face" pilot...

Wink

I appreciate that - I definitely am going x-wing... The helmet has been ordered, so no turning back now.. LOL The parts for the rest of it are slowly trickling in...

I'm quite a distance away in Echo Base (New Jersey), but if I lived closer, it wouldve been a great way to have gotten it done already at a fraction of the cost, but que sera sera -- its still going full-steam ahead either way... Smile

Your suits look awesome - and I'll be checking those tutorials! Thanks!
-=James

and....

just to give us a little something more to think about...
I got these GREAT screen captures from Rachel Orange...

I think the Hoth Tech hat will be quite adaptable to this..and should not be too much of a problem...the real trick with the Hoth Tech hat was the hat bill and all that seaming...
which by the looks of this is eliminated anyway...

and ...
I can make the bulge of the earcaps out of foam...sewn in between the fabric layers...

OK, its official, I need clips on my leg flare holster...

Thing keeps slipping off if I walk too much, I had to take it off at the parade on Saturday because it kept falling off.
