Generic thread hereso others can feel free to post reports from other stops...
But I'll just be talking about the Kansas City stop on Thurs. Aug. 6.

I think I can safely say that this was probably my 'best troop ever'. The crowd was very excited to see us, the celebrities were very excited to see us, it was fun (and not just standing around)!

One of my friends helped out with taking pictures and video:

There were several other local websites there as well:

I arrived pretty early, after only the local 501st CO who took the day off work to drive over 4 hours to get there. he'd reserved us a swath of parking spots right next to the biulding and the tour busses so it felt pretty VIP from the start. Shortly after I got there the rest of the 501st and RL members started pouring in. We suited up and went around the outside working the line (I thought it was long then but I had no idea how it'd get later). None of us could hardly go 3 feet without getting stopped for pictures. But eventually it was time for us to make our entrance, so we lined up and marched in. After posing for a few pictures, we took up positions around the rink iteself.

It was shortly after this that Seth Green came by and saw us and seems genuinely happy to take pictures with us. This was my primary goal for the night, to be photographed with him (there's along story about a buddy of mine cheating me out of this opportunity at Celebration IV), and he was happy to do so then I really geeked out when he called Breckin Meyer over to join us (Yes, I'm a fan of his work too).

With that goal accomplished, it was time to have a little fun. None of the troopers besides Sarah (gswookie) and myself were brave enough to try, but we got our skates out, costumes and all, and headed out there. Mind you, it's been over 3 years since we've been on skates, but what's the point if you don't skate, right? Well, it was uhm, slow going to say the least, skating with leg armor (me) and a helmet (Sarah) complicates it. She eventually got the hang, I waddled around out there scaring the roller derby team girls into stopping to ask me if I was alright every couple minutes (I wish I would have thought of this when I was single...). Anyway, there's some video in one of the links above where you can see (thanks to the lightsaber's glow) my speed relative to the rest of traffic. At least I didn't fall down on camera.

we didn't last long on skates as the place filled up fast and we were too much of a hazard, so we went back to patrolling. We posed for a ton of pictures and talked to a ton of great people, and Seth came by again to thank the 501st and RL (both by name, thankyouverymuch) for coming out and helping make it a great time. It was rediculously hot and sweaty in the small building, so shortly after they REALLY let the crowd in for the concert, we got in a group photo and began to head for home (and work the next day for most of us Sad ). But despite all that it really was maybe one of my most enjoyable experiences trooping.

Mission report from August 10th in Richmond, Virginia
I got to the event about 6:30pm in full Jedi (in 95 degree heat no less) and met up with other members of Freedom Base and 501st Garrison Tyrannus
We were escorted in and welcomed with open arms.
A little before 7 when the VIP doors were to open we were greeted by Seth Green, Matt Senreich and Clare Grant (one of the duo who won the Star Wars Fan Movie Challenge for SABER, and oh, did I mention she is Seth's GF). We got some of the pictures out of the way in the beginning
We had 2 Jedi, a ROTJ Fett, a Sandtrooper, a TK, 3 EP 2 CLones, one Tie Pilot, an Airborne Clone a Vader and oh yeah...our very own ROBOT CHICKEN VADER...
The line for the VIP went around one side and the General Admission line went back about 1/2 mile down the road...no lie
The only bad part was that there was little to no air in the venue except for one vent blasting cold air which all the SW folks were huddling around so as to not pass out.
Right before the band, Gym Class Heroes went on, myself and Eddie Woodmancy from 501st GT were brought up on stage and we presented Matt and Seth with an 11" RL patch each, a couple of Garrison Tyrannus patches, a RAID coin, a GT coin, one of the Glow in the Dark RL shirts and a few trading cards.
The crowd LOVED US and really got into it.
we also gave them some tattoos and such.
after the presentation, Seth came up to me and said how much of a swag hound he and Matt are and are trying to get a challenge coin from each of the bases....which I am working on.
Both were great and the band sounded good too.
Overall it was a phenomenal troop.
