Hey guys,
BeeJay here from Tatooine Outpost and 501st Terror Australis Garrison Knightfall Squad. Thought I'd better start my build thread here for my ESB Chewie. I've followed a lot of the other Chewie builds and I've decided to follow Duck's more closely than others since we're of the same height (6'3").

I've order and received my hair:
35 #27
25 #44
5 #4
5 #8
from online store http://www.cypherlox.com/indexpage.htm

Waiting on a mate to get back from holidays before we start on the head cast, so in the meantime I'd like to start on the feet/lifts.

Duck, if you're listening, do you have some more detailed info on how you did your feet/lifts?

EDIT:Subject line

OK so it's only taken me a year to get the motivation for chewie again but I've finally made a solid start.

I ordered my hair last year as mentioned in my OP and have been searching (not that hard) for the foam and mesh to use for feet and suit. I called a buddy of mine and showed him the wip photos of duck's feet and he said, "Sure I know what that is.." and set me on the right track. I ended up getting half a sheet of STYROFOAM SHEET 75MM THICK from Solid Solutions her in Melbourne. It's 75mm x .6m x 1.25m and costs $52.50. Then, using the old Mk I EyeBall cut a rough outline.

I got a pair of $30 Diadora runners from DFO.

In my ignorance I though "Man I can just use a bread knife to carve through this stuff!" HA. Had to get my jigsaw out and that only cut through 3/4 of it.

Selly's Liquid Nails for joining the foam sandwich

A bit of shaping and sanding with the orbital and we have something approaching what we want.

Glue the shoes on to the feet and time for a height test while the glue dries.

Phew... More updates to come.

Hey, great to see you back on the build!
Really looking forward to trooping with a Chewie!

What a coincidence because I've recently been motivated to start my Han build too. The boots I ordered for it arrived today actually and I've planned my weekend off for embroiding my bloodstripes Very Happy

OK So i've shaped the feet quite a bit more as I'd made the suckers too damn loooooooooooong and they were impossible to walk in.

I even managed a little jog so I think this will do.

Got these off ebay to mod up. Might use them, might not, $15 bucks, who cares...

With the help of two trusty assistants...

we got in and did my life cast over the weekend.

Ready to rock? You betcha.

How on earth did this...

Become this...

I was suprised by how peaceful it was considering I am slightly clostrophobic.

It was such hard work...

I simply had to find my Zen...

What? There's a gorgeous woman close by and I can't see her?

Time to take it off. Those plaster bandages just would not set.

Dear God I just can't take it anymore...

The sun was SO incredibly bright after being in complete darkness for around an hour and a half...

...seee, it was even too bright for Wampa!

Wampa is our 10 month old Samoyed child substitute.

No rest for the wicked, straight into the stone.

Mmmmm chili salsa...

Dave sprinkled in a light layer of the Ultracal 30 first before pouring:

OK, so while the head is setting I crack the whip and get Dave started on my toes.

Dave really has done a wonderful job on the toes..

What do you think?

OK Demoulding time..

See the resemblance?

Just need to clean it up.

A side project has turned up as well as my mesh. N.B. This side project is NOT for RL approval, more for giggles.

That is actually sitting ON TOP of my Ep3 Clone Bucket! The Clone is INSIDE the Wookiee... Hmmm is that a personal metaphor?

I've had to pin the back about 4 inches to get it almost reasonable. Got a LOT of grooming to do. but workable for my purpose.
