Where do I find a good set of yellow on brown bloodstripes?

I hope it ends well... let me know if the brown matches and if your overall happy. I have heard that can be an issue from time to time.

The brown and yellow is very close and not too difficult to match.

The stripes arrived the other day. The browns match pretty closely to what I had already purchased, but I do want to point out that the simple cotton weave is not a great choice to make an entire pair of pants out of.
My recommendation would be a stretch twill weave rather than simple basket weave cotton.

I am glad the stripes arrived. Cotton is not the best. Agreed

I think allot of people get confused with twills and cottons. So there is no confusion twill is a fabric that is woven from cotton and a trech twill has a small amount spandex in it. I think when people say cotton they just asume that its a thin weak fabric.... it comes in many weights... twill is just one of many types of fabrics that cotton has to offer.

They are affordable and easy to put on... no reason these days for people to be trooping in unaltered costumebase pants IMO.

...what's wrong with the costumebase pants?

Costumebase pants when the arrive are very baggy, have no pintuck or riding seam. Unless you know a seamstress or can do the mods yourself they require a lot of modifications. Plus the bloodstripes are too long and will need to be shortened.

I only ask b/c I got mine from costumebase. They're skin-tight--so tight, in fact, the back seam ripped and I had to repair it!

The pintuck, riding seam and bloodstripe length are formal requirements, though, not minimum, correct?

(I'm not even sure what a pintuck and riding seam are! Hah.)

Excellent...that means that I can get the costume approved as informal and then work on the fixes to formalize it!

Yeah, I just saw that thread...so much information to take in, it's easy to miss things even when you're looking for them and they're right in front of you!

Thanks. It gets discouraging when you think you've got screen accurate stuff and it turns out it's far from it. My skills as a tailor are not exactly stellar, so I find myself having to rely on pre-fabricated stuff until I get up to speed. Something to shoot for, though.

Jason, no worries. The last thing we all want you to do is to get discouraged and frustrated.

There is lots of info to take in. The Fringe are here to help you in any way we can. Any questions please let us know.

Thanks. For the time being I think I"m going to try and put the seam and pintuck in my costumebase pants and leave the oversized blood stripes as-is. I just hope I can still squeeze into the pants when it's done!

For future reference should I decide to do accurate blood stripes, it'll presumably require making new pants from scratch...anyone know of any good base pants to start from and modify?
