Hey all, wanted to give a quick intro. I will be joing the fringe flock as a "Han", but am still completing my costume. Soon though...
To the question at hand. Anyone know where to find the actual Kobold flash gun for a 100% accurate Han droid caller??
Thanks, Looking forward to my time with the rebel legion!

I don't know where you'd look other than ebay. I see them there from time to time.

I grabbed the costume base one, painted it so it looks better but it's more for show really.

I saw a new one by evolutiontoysshop on ebay. Looks ok, but just not as acurate as I would like. The paint on the costume base one is pretty bad. Figure if i have to paint, just go with the CE resin prop.

Evolution's droid caller is ok, bit the paint comes off with the slightest chratch. Will have to repaint mine very soon. Also it does not sit well on the belt.

Patience was key for me..... it took me 1 full year on ebay to get both original droid callers for my Han costumes.

Everyday I would do the following searches:

Kobold
Kobald
cobald
Kabald
Kobalt
Cobalt
Flash Unit
flashunit

In both of my auctions for my droid callers, they where spelled incorrectly, and I got for dirt cheap.

In response to my own posting about the CB droid caller... I was being far to nice, that thing is junk!!!
The Evolution is a great improvement, but I am noticeing that even with the MP holster, it does not like to stay in the C clip very well. Might have to make a little velcro mod....

Mike, I have found the same thing with the ROTJ belt. Velcor mod recommended. Working on it now.......

As a keen amateur photograher, I recently aquired some very old photography kit.
there are three genuine Kobold flash units amongst them.
if someone is willing to make me an offer. they can have them.
I willsend pictures to any interested parties

Is this the new Costumebase Aluminum one? I just got it for fun - and it's not bad... I also have the Resin - I've been less impressed since it's heavy and prone to loose the little pieces.

Having the real one would be awesome - but I don't think I'd wear it out! lol rather Break / Loose a cheap replica.

If you got the CB one, it looks nothing like it is supposed to, unless they came up with a new design. If so, please post a pic! The Evolutiontoysshop one looks very much like the resin and actual Kobold's. Retailed at about 50 bucks plus shipping. I think myself, steve solo and Cobalt60 have the Evolution one.
