Would this work for the soft part of the helmet? Not a bad price.

I just bought one of these for starting an Endor Trooper as my entry costume. I researched it before purchasing, and turns out that it's the same helmet they used for the original prop. Number of snaps/color of leather varies from maker to maker, but everyone says that doesn't matter overall. Mine came on Friday and I must say it is perfect near as I can tell. Now I just need to buy some fabric and a donut for the mods. Be forwarned, these things can be VERY tight fitting. I don't think my head is to big personally, but the Extra Large they sent me barely fits! People were small in the 40s I guess. But yeah, it's the right helmet. I believe they are unissued condition too, which means you don't have to worry about it falling apart on you either. One other thing, I found three of the belt pouches for the Endor Trooper on their page too. Also at nice prices. Be sure to check their packs and pouches section!

I got lucky when I was working on my Endor Trooper costume. Sportsman Guide was having a special with a web belt and 7 canvas pouches of 4 different types with 3 duplicates. I didn't need all of them so I gave the duplicate ones to a friend who was also working on an Endor Trooper costume.

This is what I got. I think it was only around $20. They don't have anything like that right now, though.

I think that it should be a variation where the leather is black.
There is a pattern available if you want to make it yourself. There are a few mods you would have to do in any case.

I bought a couple of these.... http://www.imsplus.com/canvas-boxed-ammo-pouch.html They are very accurate. They went up a coupe of dollars, but still a very good price.

We're not talkin about belt pouches or belts at all Rolling Eyes ....I was asking if these helmets were acceptable for RL standards.

Yes. This is the exact prop used for the original Endor soft helmet. It is clearly listed in the "Where to Find Endor Trooper Items" thread in this forum.

My only concern on using the real, historical flight helmet is that you have to cut it up to use it for the Endor Trooper. That little bill piece on the front has to come off and the straps on the back need to be cut off as well.

We made the soft helmet pattern in a effort to preserve the historical items and give people a less expensive option for this costume piece.

Sorry, I didn't start it, but I guess I kind of perpetuated it. Embarassed

Yeah, but they ain't making any more of these eggs. Crying or Very sad

For me, I have a difficult time destroying a piece of living history to make a costume part, so I'll be getting a fan-made flight helmet.

Just FYI, the purpose of the "Where to Get" threads in the Rebel Trooper forum is to help people get the same items for their costumes - so that way they know the items will be acceptable for that costume standard.

I think I've mentioned the threads at least 4 times this past week. I had hoped people would find them on their own, but apparently not. Sad

Is this a new found site or not? Confused
I was just asking and sometimes I don't have the time to go sifting through every small info thread for something.

I personally have never seen the helmet and wanted to know if this was close....Move the thread if you want to, I don't care.

That's why the "Where To Get" threads are stickied at the top of the forum.
