I have never heard of him (I don't think ) but I'd be interested in this activity. Let me know what I can do to help!

I would be interested in doing an event, though if the store doesn't want costumed characters I'd still want to go to show support for Mr. Allston (Wraith Squadron = LOVE). Smile

The 501st were on hand at the Karen Travis signing. Maybe we can jump on this one.

Heidi, don't you know someone who works there?

Anyone interested?

I do know someone who works there...he also happens to be the same freelance writer who helped get the New Times to cover us at the Harkins thing. I'll be seeing him this coming weekend so I'll ask if he knows whats up!

I find myself, once again, heartily in agreement with Carol.

I love Aaron Allston. (it's ok, Joel knows) His characters have a great sense of humor. He is so awesome!! He inspired me to want to be an x-wing pilot. Embarassed

I wonder what the chance would be of taking him out to dinner like the PFF did with Mike Stackpole and Tim Zahn a few years ago. 'Cause that would be wicked. X-Wing 1 **bounces excitedly in cockpit** X-Wing 2

*sniff* Ok. Fangirl moment over. Wink

Well Aaron and Mike are good buds. Maybe we can take them both to dinner if they're interested.

Heidi, you might see if your friend has a way of contacting Aaron or Aaron's people. If Mike wants to do dinner with us too, we might get to Aaron through Mike as well.

...Maybe. Mr. Green

I talked to my friend about this last weekend and got this email from him today:

Heidi,

We're a go for 10 501st Dune Sea Garrison members and 10 Rebel Legion
members to come to the store for the Aaron Allston event on March 29
at 2 p.m. It's funny because my general manager was the one who asked
me to see if we could get you guys to come back to the store. As a
thank you, the store will be donating store credit to the charity of
each group's choice. I don't know how much yet.

The link to the DSG posted above doesn't work for me but I will assume they have things covered on their end. I'll go ahead and post up the sign up for this event! Unfortunately I have the Bike MS ride that weekend so I will not be able to attend. Confused

Joel can you update your first post there to reflect the info, official RL event yadda yadda?

I sent an email to Mike Stackpole to see if he would be interested in having dinner with us and Aaron after the signing. I will let you know what I hear back. *crosses fingers* Smile

You might also want to check and see if either Aaron or Mike have received official Legion Honorary Member status, with the plaque and all.

Here's us awarding Colin "The Other Wedge" Higgins from A New Hope, at CIV:
