Now when going through my costume list for CVI I've realised that each costume requires its own pair of boots. Boots are heavy and hard to pack. So for my tusken I decided to make a pair of alternative footwear.
I started with measuring a pair of sandals that I'm going to bring. Then I made cover for those.
The covers have soles of the same rough fabric as my shawl and the the rest is a stretch fabric, so that they will fit snuggly over the feet.
Then I sewed on more strips of fabric that I have left over since I made my tusken boots.
These shoe covers aren't made for walking outdoors, and I'm not sure how long they will hold up, eventhough I've tried to reinforce all the seams. They are made for wearing at maximum two days at CVI. |

Well,
as mentioned I will start building the Endor commando after I finnish my Tie-pilot, should be done with that within a month or so.
Some members of NG have been talking on doing one as well, trying to kickstart people now, cause it could be a fun little project to work together on.
Was wondering if any of you have some experience on that build? or plan on starting it up? |

There are a couple of us who are planning for Endor troopers, but I think Björn (jedimasterbatty) is the only one who has finished one so far. |

A fun thing with the Endor Rebel Commando is that there are a few variations to choose from, and you can upgrade from a simple one with more items later on. If you already have a E-11 or a DH-17 from an Imperial costume, then that blaster would also be accepted for a ERC.
I know that Tapio in Finland have been looking at options for helmet shells and A280 blasters.
In time, I think that I could supply people with parts for the hardpack, a pattern for the beige vest and a sculpt for the trooper's wrist comm (which is different from Leia's). So far, I have mostly done research and acquired a few authentic greeblies for those things.
I believe that the original wrist comm was one piece of vacuuformed thin plastic with a wrist band and velcro, but I (and a few others) could do resin-casting also. _________________ Booyegashaaa! Attack the block and the Force awakens. |

Well, I don't have much in form of an update, but I'm an slowly gathering a few things I'll need for Ewok Leia. (Hairband and extensions). Next step will be the mock up, but that won't happen right now.
Johanna, great idea with the sandals. Let us know how well they hold up. _________________

I have tried to Convert some Costumebase Solo pants to RL standard but did not think it would be THAT much work, but it is..
Will soon be done with the bloodstripes and then it´s only the rest left.
I must also get a new Blaster. I think I got the rest.. |

Is it one of those cases where it would have been easier to just make them from scratch yourself? _________________

Haha! Almost.
I think I got the pants ready now. I will just look for the right belt tools then I can send in pictures..
Edit..
This is how it look right now.
I have no sewing machine so I had to do it all by hand but I think it looks ok?

Well they look good. And doing it by hand?! Damn, I'm glad I don't have to do my costumes that way. _________________

I took some dark pictures (sorry) with my phone of how the Solo outfit starts to take form. Hope to be done soon and get it approved.
