No links, but I would suggest a cotton twill or gabardine type of material. If done right, even some types of denim could be good, too.

Bottom-weight cotton twill. It should be the weight of a Dickie's type coverall.

Although for people like me who get really hot, the thinner flight suit is the perfect weight and breathes.

Orange cotton twill with a diagonal pattern to it, like on jeans fabric. Weight: 5 to 7 ounches/yard². In other words, the same type of fabric as for a pair of chinos.
It should be a perfect orange color. Not neon-orange, yellow-orange or red-orange.

This is also the best time of year to find it in large quantities. Good luck.

I found the fabric in my area : Kortrijk - Belgium .
And a friend told me in his area : Gent - Belgium .

I also want to start from zero .
I found a few replica's ( good & bad ) on E-bay , only problem they are to small . No European sizes . . .

Those basic US flightsuits , i didn't find them in Belgium .

It would be easy'r for people who want to made one , to have some patterns . With the right sizes and what where belongs . There are tons of documentation pictures of what where belongs , but not really details about sizes .

But on the other hand it's a challenge !
