A question about blaster & blaster holster . . .

What are the rules about blaster & blaster holster for a Rebel / X-Wing Pilot .

In the movies i see Luke Skywalker shooting with a DL-44 blaster .
Than i read on a Jek Porkins fansite ( http://porkins.home.insightbb.com/figure.htm ) that Jek Porkins has a DH-17 blaster .
In the comics Rogue Squadron , i see a lot of different blasters .
I think it's not the meaning that we walk around as a Rebel Rambo Pilot .

I have ( thanks to a lady friend ) a Hasbro DH-17 .
This site has DH-17 / DL-44 ( Hasbro ) for sale : www.buystarwarscostumes.com .

Is this allowed to use . . . and what are than the regulations about the holsters .
I beign reading a lot of forums , and i seen a lot of different versions of holsters .

I found than this site : http://www.saberbelt.com/HawkbatSeries.html .
This belt looks cool . I should made one like this ( as basic ) . Are there for the belt buckle a size that i must respect .

Thanks for your time . . .
Friendly regards .

Pilots in flightsuits are never seen with a blaster, so they're not canon, therefore we can't standardize them. Can you wear one? Sure, as long as it's not a canon event. Unless it's a canon event, you'll almost always find me with a DL-44 or a DH-17 on my gunbelt, but that's a personal choice.

What I am hearing is that there is no real rule on this, other than that if you are not a Jedi, don't carry a lightsaber on your belt. I have a Luke DL-44 and am hoping to make a Black leather version of the solo low slung blaster holder. I've seen pilots wearing DH-17, DL-44 Luke and Han versions.

I prefer to use the same reasoning that real world fighter pilots use. They are allowed to carry any sidearm that they want, since it is their own personal gun, and not a standard issue firearm. Just as a Navy pilot might carry a .45 or a 9mm, I would imagine a rebel pilot would carry just about whatever he wants to bring with him.

Right.....except of course of cannon events, as only Luke wore a blaster in the movies.

I beg to differ, watch ESB again and you'll see that luke has a blaster w/holster in his Snowspeeder uniform (which he wears when he's also piloting his x-wing too, later in the movie.) So if you had the Orange flight jacket he wore in ESB you would be able to wear his leather belt, holster, DL-44 AND his lightsaber... And still be able to go to Canon Events. Of course you would need his tan gloves/boots instead of black.

Ok, that's fine, but then you're talking about a face character, and that's a whole different set of rules.

The fact remains, blasters are not required for any Rebel pilot costume at this time. You CAN wear one, but you don't HAVE to.

I don't go for a face character . . . but i have the Jek Porkins size .
I think ( in a way ) it's better no blaster on Official events .

Me personally, if I ever do an orange "convict" outfit, I'm gonna carry a blaster pistol of some sort. What's a pilot gonna do if he goes down behind enemy lines??? Not all pilots are Jedi. Laughing Laughing

I say go for it with the pistol. Very Happy

Yeah, I know. My question was sort of tongue in cheek.

Even though I don't have the build to be Porkins, he was one of my favorites. There are so few obese heroes, and here's this guy who gives his life for the rebellion.

Of course, then they go and give him the name "Porkins", so it isn't all good.
