Are you going to get a correct Luke Episode V blaster for that costume?
I'm thinking about getting a MR one but can't rationalize dropping $400+ for it. cool website by the way Smile

I would LOVE one, but like you say, it costs quite a bit to get a really good one...

starworld on ebay has luke ESB LE blasters for $229, "mint in sealed box".

I just snagged one for $204 on a 10%-off deal. [/hot tip]

According to PoSW han and luke use the same dl-44.

Now unless there's something I cant tell from his page about the blaster then I dont know.

at first glance they look the same. but they were two different props.
hans was a replica mausser, painted flat-black. luke's was a vintage mausser, painted glossy black.
han's flash supressor was dull gray; luke's was shiny aluminum.
(han's looked better in natural light under cloudy winter skies;
luke's looked better dripping with swamp water) Wink

Cool site, Dave!

But, wait a minute ... does this shot mean that my goofy grin while dueling Vader is canon?! Laughing Laughing Laughing

This must have been a behind-the-scenes blooper shot! Smile

I've ordered from starworld before* Cool I'm not worried.

-======-

* I got a quigon LE for $160 from starworld and I was very impressed.
they actually took the time to stick the entire MR shipping-box into a larger box full of foam peanuts..
..so even the authentic MR "shipping box" was pristine with no postmarks. LOL

---> here's one now for ~144$ (deals like this are hard to pass up)

this place has the ANH version for $150 -- maybe contact them about ESB parts for it (?)

http://graflexsabers.com/

this is a working "camera flash" btw. it will actually 'flash the bulb' on a 1940's graflex camera Cool (how cool is that?)

what are the main differences between the Luke Episode IV and V hilt?

The graflexsabers website is an offshoot of parks sabers, I believe.
I ordered an epv hilt from parksabers and it turned out pretty good..I
do have the ESB MR hilt...( paid a little bit for that) and it doesn't look
like much difference between ANH and ESB style...I could be wrong.
(just my .02 for what its worth)

differences:
- bubble strip on ANH control box; circuit board on ESB control box.
- 'glass eye' + red button on ANH version; 2 red buttons on ESB (no glass eye).
- grips have rivets holding the end down on ESB ; no rivets on ANH.

otherwise they are pretty much the same.
the ESB was made from the ANH so they are technically the same prop.
(for example, the rivets were only added because the grips kept peeling off in the snow;
it underwent changes along the way but it was the same physical prop for both films)

he said it would be 150 more and count it as a custom made, which would make it 300. it might be cheaper to find a MR. I might go with graflex though.

you can get all the parts needed to turn the graflex into the ESB version for under $40
http://cgi.ebay.com/LIGHTSABER-ESB-GRAFLEX-CONVERSION-KIT-GRAFLEX-star-esb_W0QQitemZ190283247317QQihZ009QQcategoryZ37887QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262
so now you're up to $188+shipping

-=====-

for that kind of money you might want to look at Ultrasabers.
they are the "Saleen Mustang" of the saber world:
they take a stock product and add aftermarket parts to create something better.
(translation: they take a stock force-FX and modify it with a removeable blade so you can hang it on your belt).
http://www.ultrasabers.com/Luke_ANH_p/ufx-ls-anh.htm <--this is what you want right here

and as a moderator at fxsabers I can even hook you up with a coupon code for 15%off. ($30 off an ultra FX).
http://www.fx-sabers.com/forum/index.php?topic=15540.0
the code is only good for the next 2 days.
---> now you're down to $169+shipping (and you've got lights and sound and a removeable blade) Smile

(but its ANH not ESB . and can't be converted like the graflex) Confused [/tradeoff]

so.. how strict are the requirements when it comes to minute saber details?
would an ANH-styled graflex-saber pass, as part of the bespin outfit?

also, would an ESB force-FX pass as part of the bespin outfit?

(I'm basically just missing the boots, saber hilt, and one long pouch.
I have the ANH hilt but I had always assumed I'd need the ESB version;
I also have the ESB "force-FX" but I had always assumed I'd need a belthanger)

-->can my belthanger be an ANH hilt, if I (also) have the ESB force-FX?
(and/or, will it fly with just the ESB force-FX as the lightsaber requirement?)
