While I was ebaying recently I stumbled across a really good looking DL-44 supposedly done by Rubies for less than $20. That's less than an unmodified airsoft Mauser, but looks spot on, so it seems to be a sweet deal.

However, the pictures shown are actually a Master Replicas blaster recolored to look like it's made of plastic. Some even use the original MR pic in their advertisement.

Have any of you bought this blaster? (the Rubies, not the MR) What does it actually look like?

Yeah, I wonder what it really looks like. Interesting. I have never heard of a rubies Han blaster.

The real one is pretty decent for a toy. It's more accurate than the Kenner/Hasbro. It's ANH style and is pretty spot on in terms of scale. Obviously the scope is molded as part of the main body but it's offset unlike the Hasbro. It has sound effects, etc.

A guy on the RPF painted one up and it looked pretty nice. Definitely a good alternative for the budget minded Han costumer or anyone who wants something with sound effects for the kiddies but doesn't want something as inaccurate as the Kenner.

Looks like this:

I bought one from the bay for £7 inc shipping from the US to England, just in the process of modding it and giving it a new paint job.

Nice little piece of kit.

Well, I didn't find this Rubies gun listed on Rubies website nor on Target's...but I did find this listed on Target's website: http://www.target.com/Limited-Episode-Han-Solo-Blaster/dp/B0007ZHJIO/sr=1-1/qid=1225909425/ref=sr_1_1/181-4807548-4399041?ie=UTF8&rh=k%3Ahan%20solo%20blaster&page=1

which kind of floored me...
I found this one: http://www.maxcostumes.com/p-33124-star-wars-han-solo-blaster.aspx
but it seems too good to be true

the one in the post is here for $9.99: http://www.buycostumes.com/Star-Wars-Han-Solo-Blaster/33124/ProductDetail.aspx?REF=SCE-froogle

If anyone has any info on the middle one, I'd be interested to know if it's a terrible item or if it's decent enough versus getting this Rubies one and painting it.

Hmmm..... I am even considering getting one! With a price like that, you really can't go wrong.

There are some very good pictures of the blaster in this thread on the BBC forum. Scroll down to the last post.

They must have replicated the MR ANH Elite Edition blaster. The scope has become part of the gun body, though. If you want the scope to be a separate piece as on the original, then it would require a bit of work.
