I have begun building my own rebel pilot helmet. The sides are complete I just need some further information so I can begin making the mohawk. Can somebody take one of their helmets, throw a tape measure up on it and tell me the width of the mohawk? I don't need it to include the side portion just the plastic piece the holds together the two sides. Here is a photo to show you what I am talking about. The Red Line is really all I need measured, for now. Please and thank you.
I think that all replica helmets out there (except for the Don Post/Rubies) have made the mohawk too large.
For a size Large APH shell, I estimate that the strip on top of the mohawk should be around 46 mm, or between 1 3/4" and 1 7/8" wide.
