Fantastic job! Surprised

I would be interested in getting one of the backpacks... it might be a few months, but if you can get a price, I'll start saving for it. That just looks SO good that I think it would take any good ERT to pure great!

Are you also going to be offering kits for the rest of the pieces parts for the backpack? Because you seem to have nailed this... perfectly.

I can't promise that I'd be able to pay for one in the next couple of months, but I'd surely get a kit if you offered one. And I have a hunch others would, too. Cool

I took to many projects on at once my EC, Kashyyyk, and this pack. I won't do that again! So this is becoming a slow process to get finished!

I do plan on making a kit by the end of this year! But it would not include the Cloth for the boxes and my seamstress does not want to make any more covers for the HardPack. I need to create the tutorial with all my patterns. I do have a price but I want it to be affordable.

The most difficult thing is the cloth part to cover the boxes. Every thing else is fairly easy. Start to look for a good seamstress if you don't all ready have one or if someone wants to take on the project of sewing up the cloth for the boxes. "Phyllis!" OH! Did I say that! J/k

In the works:

A hard pack frame hopefully screen accurate! The time frame has prolonged enough and I need to get with my fabricator!

The 4 tubes in-between the pack. I do have someone working to cast it and he is a reliable source.

So the price is 500 credits! J/K

I hope to start the finishing process of this project after SWW!

Their are several videos on Youtube just search for SWW 09 and you can see the Hard Pack. I received several compliments and several request already. So I'll keep posting on the process!

in a word...
NO!.....lol...

I do volunteer work for 4 other groups that are not related to SW or to costuming.....and work full time....it leaves me with little extra time....
I have had a bunch of requests lately to do Hoth costumes, Endor pieces, a Weequay....and other things...
but the truth of the matter is I can't even get to my own projects..
my R2 is in pieces....and has been for months...
my own Hoth pack is still in pieces...
and on and on...
I vowed that I would take on nothing new until I got my projects done and I keep getting torn away from them with all sorts of other things...

I need to stick to that before I lose my mind...

but....really...
a tutorial complete with parts list....
or a kit...
would be so very awesome!!

Tutorials are awesome...I just wish more people would write them...
sometimes it is just as time consuming to do a good tutorial as it is to make an item...
but so important if we are to grow.

Let me know when/if you complete a tutorial or kits...
and I will make sure to "advertise" at both the Endor and Hoth Yahoo groups...

For some reasons your name pop into my head...not sure why! Oh that's right you no how to sew...and I know you are very busy! bow

On the other hand, if someone is interested in the sewing part let me know!

Those who may be interested start looking for shoulder straps the kit will not include these! Unless a miracle takes place. The ones I have came w/ the original pack(Swiss army pack) I have. Go to your local military store and look their.

one might be able to make the shoulder straps....or something very similar....

If you include some good photos of the shoulder straps with the tutorial/kit...
I am sure our resourceful Troopers can come up with something.

Very Happy

Embarassed

I have often said that I don't need to "weather" anything...that I am really hard on my costumes...

nuff said...
lol..

I purchased some stuff called
Devcon Epoxy Gel (a two part epoxy) to try and fix rifle..
the hard part is that the part I broke off has the rifle sling swivel...so of course it has to "carry weight"....

your thoughts?

Oh, no! Shocked

Well, that part on a real AR15 is pretty weak too. One of the things the Special Forces guys do is attach a doo-hicky on the spot, right where your broke, and attach the sling there. That will relieve any stress the stock gets put under while slinging your blaster. As for re-attaching, we too are tough on our props, my suggestion may be to not only glue the parts back on, but to also use screws or maybe a dowel rod to reinforce the weak spot.

The Well's MR722 airsoft gun has two slots the stock slides in to, and can be removed, did yours break there or behind this spot?

A random search on google found some things: Here is the doo-hicky I was talking about:
http://www.cactustactical.com/osc/yhm-sling-adapter-right-handed-for-and-ar15-p-1068.html

and here is a pic of a real AR15 with the sling mounted forward of your 'break' using the doo-hicky.
