I don't think the skirt is silk noil, is it? It looks too crinkly in the close-up.

If he was distracted by some slave leia or other costume babe, then the kill was appropriate. Wink

...and executed with strong technique, I might add.

You seem to do a fantastic job on all your costumes. And as someone pointed out earlier, your skirt is similar to a Hakama (traditional pants worn by Samurai): http://www.japanesekimono.com/japanese_pants.htm
So, it's not entirely girly Wink

Kristen, as always, your work is most impressive. I also use a long flowing skirt. I love the feminity of it and after wearing the armor costumes of the Empire, it is nice to get to be girly with attitude. It also harkens to Barriss and Luminara, other Jedi fems who work the skirt. Keep up the beautiful work.

The skirt isn't silk it's crinkle cotton, but the tunic and sash are silks. It's a full circle skirt and is so swishy and fun to wear.

If you go back to my original post and click on the link, I have my other pictures and info in there Wink Yes, it was inspired by japanese clothing, but I took my own twist to it.

Exactly what I was thinking. I've got some brown crinkle fabric that made me think about making hakama with. Seeing the skirt definitely swayed me to complete these Smile

Such a lovely feminine job on this. That is the direction for my generic jedi also. I am doing a skirt full like that. My Barriss skirt feels so good that it just makes sense to do the jedi one also. Your craftsmanship is always excellent!

One of our base member's does hakama pants for her informal Jedi outfit and it does look great.

I did an informal Jedi a long time about with a surcoat instead of tabbards:

Super comfy, my most comfortable costume ever. I didn't want to take it off Monday at Dragon Con, I just wanted to go home in it lol.

Your outfit reminds me of my friend Colleen's costume (I think this is the person Donna's talking about above). She made and wore it for Celebration II or III (I forget which), but instead of the full skirt, she went with the "samurai" hakama pants - giving the flexibility of pants, but the illusion of a skirt.

Like you, she wanted to go girly (and comfortable). I think you both succeeded! Thumbs up
