Yesterday the Pag-Asa Wing took a break from our almost weekly trooping events and decided to help save the planet in our own little way. We were part of the 1,000-strong volunteer teams for the Coca-Cola Foundation's arm of the International Coastal Cleanup here in Metro Manila, Philippines.

The actual place was a part of the Manila Bay located in San Dionisio, Parañaque City. The place was unfortunate to be in the way of the ocean currents, so all the trash from the Manila Bay area (and beyond) tend to converge in the San Dionisio area.

The Winger team was composed of CO Stomp, XO Jedi Remus, PR officer shard_khali, new recruit Jeff Estaris (finishing the details to his Jedi outfit), and fellow Starwoid Hector Santiano (from the local Fanforce).

The data gathered from the Coastal Cleanup will be submitted to Coca-Cola, which in turn will submit the collated data to the Ocean Conservancy.

The Pag-Asa Wing is proud to declare "We Are the Heroes," and live it. The ICC participation is only the beginning of our future endeavors to not just promote Star Wars and costuming, but to actually be the good guys and save the day in our own little way.

Sure thing trickster! So everyone can have an idea of what we do in different parts of this country Smile Trickster has been spearheading the ICC arm in the island of Palawan (El Nido) for the past 2 years, so applause applause to her!

The Philippines also happens to have some of the best beaches--and marine life--in the world and was just heartbreaking to see all that trash in an otherwise beautiful area.

Guys, thanks for the acknowledgments. Smile Maybe more Outposts and Bases can join in next year in their respective areas!

Our video diary will be up tomorrow Smile

And this is what the ICC looks like on a little island Smile I've been fortunate to have served as a team leader for the past 2 years.

I'm the second girl from the left (white shirt, khaki shorts, glasses).

I'm the only Rebel here but in my book, each and every volunteer is a hero
