Just got this email from my contact at the museum:

Ed

We announced today that STAR WARS will be on display at the Science Museum of Minnesota from June 13 - August 24, 2008. Learn more here: http://www.smm.org/starwars/.

Tickets will go on sale to the public in April 2008. You can visit www.smm.org/starwars now and join the Science Museum's Star Wars priority email ticket club. Those who sign up now will have the opportunity to purchase tickets in March, before they go on sale to the public, and will receive periodic e-updates about the exhibit with behind-the-scenes information and special opportunities. Tickets for Star Wars are timed and dated, and capacity is limited, so visitors will be asked to choose a date for their visit and a specific entry time for the exhibit.

Looking forward to working with you on this exciting exhibit!

Like most of our events here in the Twin Cities, this will be a joint op with the 501st. I'm extending the invitation to everyone in Central Base, as well as out brothers and sisters in the surrounding Bases. I've already gotten word that many members of Midwest Base will be joining us.

Will the event part take place on any particular day in the lifespan of the exhibit, just opening day or some such?

Reposted from the RL WSMI forums:

The WSMI exhibit is a joint op between the Rebel Legion and the 501st. Central Garrison has graciously offered to host a WSMI exhibit forum on their forums. While information will also be posted to the Rebel Legion forums, the official signup lists will be on the Central Garrison forum. If you wish to participate, you must follow these steps:

1. Register on the Central Garrison forum.
Please go to www.centralgarrison.org and register. Please be sure to put your first and last name, as well as "Rebel Legion" in the signature field. If at all possible, please use the same user name as your RL username. Please be sure that you register using a valid email address, as important information regarding events will be emailed to you.

2. Identify yourself as a Rebel Legion member.
Once you have registered on the CG forums, and your account has been approved, please log into the CG forums and register as a Rebel Legion member in this thread. Simply click on the button that says "I am a Rebel Legion Member!". You do not have to post in the thread, but you are more than welcome to do so.

3. Register for the events you can attend.
Log into the CG forums and go to the SMM: Star Wars - Where Science Meets Imagination section. There will be separate signup lists for each event. To register for an event, click on the thread for that event. You will see three buttons in the first post, "Definitely want to attend", "Interested", and "Can't make it". Please click on the appropriate button. Once you have done so, your username will be added to the roster for each selection. These rosters will be used as the official rosters for each event. If you do not register for an event, you will not be allowed to participate.

If you have any questions, please PM or email me.

Getting close now...I had a meeting with the museum earlier this week, and I got to walk through the exhibit space. We'll be making the schedules soon, so make sure you're registered on the CG forums if you want to participate.

The museum has started contacting people who have signed up on the Central Garrison forums. Send me a PM if you haven't received anything by the end of the day, but first check your spam folder in case it got intercepted. The email would have been sent by jimholte@smm.org.

I will make my phone number available to those participating in the exhibit. I literally have my cell phone on me 24/7 (even when in costume, thank the Maker for Bluetooth headsets), so if you need anything at all during the run of the exhibit, give me a call.

Why isn't my name on that list? I seem to have vivid memories of being there. Maybe it was all a dream?

Embarassed

Because when I pulled the names for the list here, I somehow used an old copy that you weren't on. Looks like I missed a few other names too. Sorry 'bout that, I'll fix it as soon as I can.
