Here is my almost finished Anakin. It still needs some tweaks (braid, darker brown pants). So please be kind.

Edit: This was just a first time fitting. It will be finished in time for the TRU Midnight Madness event.

I do have 2 shoulder straps in it (which you can see in the pics if you look close enough). However it makes wearing the cloak very hard to wear if I use them.

I have shoulder straps in mine as well. Mine are built like a backpack straps. Like you said, it makes it much harder to put on in costume. I have found another method that should make it a lot easier.

It's a strap that is fastened by a snap buckle in the middle. Two end points are sewed onto the cloak at an equidistance from each other. They clicp snap in the middle. The straps go under your armpits, up the shoulders, and fasten behind your neck.

I've only seen the design on other capes, and I've tested the prototype on mine, but I haven't finished it. I side tracked it pending another project.
