Are we walking in any parades in Omaha, this week? Maybe the Ralston Parade? Let me know the details if we are.

Phil

The RL doesn't have an entry by itself, but I'm checking with the 501st lead guy for the Ralston Parade to see if Rebels are welcome. I'll keep you updated. Smile

Okay, REbels are welcome to join in with the 501st. Here is the main info posted by TK-9031:

We are entry #39. Last year we were I believe #71.......less waiting.

The parade route:

81st and Q st. to 80 st.
80th st. to Oakwood
Oakwood to Miller Ave.
Miller Ave. to main st.
Main st. to 73rd

This is approximately .9 miles though some felt like it was 9. miles as last year was hot and the hill at the end was not so much fun.

The ice cream is on me for anyone who goes to the.......Dairy Queen? afterward.

After I check in I will know where our assembly point will be. Feel free to call me at this number (402) 677-0029 and I can tell you where that is.
We need to be in place and dressed by 1:00 but as we learned last year, it's a zoo. Parking is not so plentiful the closer to parade time we get.

Dan, A back up cooler is always a good idea. Thank you.

Rules to note::
No throwing anything to the crowd.
No alcohol
No water balloons or other water-fighting paraphernalia.
The parade route is also the emergency exit for police and fire vehicles. Hopefully, there will be no need for them to respond to calls but if so, we need to 'pull over' for them..to the right side, of course.

Pictures:: As discussed in a post earlier this year, let's not hold up the parade by posing for pics if the picture taker is not ready. If someone has a camera ready that is great but if it's time to hunt in purse or picnic basket then we should keep moving.....................they will be ready next year.

Group photos:: Best to take care of this before the parade as afterward we look beat and sweaty.

I will try to remember to bring an emergency repair kit.

Thank you,

Phil, I still have to clear this with Christy, but IF I end up going, want to carpool?

Yeah, I was planning on going as RFT. Smile I've been trying to do more RL costumes lately because I know when I get Vader done, I'll be doing that A LOT! Evil or Very Mad Laughing

We can rally at my house. I'll check when the other guys are gathering.

Meet 11:30 at Robs... right in the middle of Phil and my place works for me. We can all pile in the van if you'd like.

Well, It was a great parade. Although there was a lot of hurry up and wait moments. Laughing The crowd was huge! We were three rebels in the middle of about 15 Imperials, but we were near the back and so we could've taken them out easily if we wanted! Evil or Very Mad Thanks Phil for reminding me about this event, Jeff for driving, and both you guys for coming out. The RFT costume looks better with more at an event!
